Installation of Shrockworks Rock Sliders

Really impressed with these... everything bolted up just as specified by Shrockworks.

Love how they tuck up nice and tight to the rock panels... and they don't stick out past the mudflaps or the tires.

Only (1) thing I didn't care for is the gusset on the front drivers side support bracket touches the floor of the cab... zero clearance.

Item numbers on photo's below are based on the Shrockworks Installation Instructions.

Great post, great thread.
Can I ask you if you would consider sharing the bed model you're showing here? I'm studying some adds to mine and this would be a nice time saver.

Thanks!

CAD Model Of The 6 Ft Bed

Started to create a CAD Solid Model of the bed on my Supercab today.

I've got some projects I want to build, such as a wooden support structure to hold 4' x 8' sheets of lumber and thought having a CAD model would make it easier for me to design the structure.

Some things are easy to model... others not so much. I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing the model of the bed. It just isn't accurate enough.

I made the model knowing that I was building a wooden structure that I could check each board for 'fit". I have yet to build the "Lumber Rack".
Totally understand.
Thanks for your quick response!

Shot a few photo's of the truck today.

The Shrockwork Rocksliders really do compliment the lines of the Ranger and look like they are a part of the truck, not some aftermarket afterthought.

Do you have a picture like the bottom three, with a tape measure, of the door open and seeing how big of a foot step pad you have? Curious if these would be sufficient for a step for a 6 year old and my wife so they could use it to get in the truck, and to justify my need to buy these over cheesey side steps from Ford.

Took some photo's for you... hope these help. I put a worn out size 12 hiking boot on the slider for reference.

I'm 6'-1" tall, I don't use them as a step. My wife is 5'-2" tall, she does use them as a step.

Dude you are the BEST! This is exactly what I wanted to know and more.

I may need them, I'm 6'0 and wife's 5'7, Icon suspension kit is on the way, and then bigger tires soon too, so I feel like once these two combine, I'll need steps. Sliders are the best compromise.

I don't think it's a REAL FX4. think your salesman heard you wanted one, ran out back, and stuck some stickers on a XL, then said, we'll make you a great deal! :like:

Some ideas I've been messing with in photo-chop

Lower side panel stripes...
  1. Silver (nice with your wheels)
  2. Red (more sporty and eye-catching)
  3. Yellow (no other yellow)

Upper strip...
  • How does this look inverted with the long side on top? Could go forward along front fender.
  • Red on Magnetic is dazzling. How about silver ?

Filled up with fuel today and checked mpg: 27.5 mpg calculated, 28.3 mpg per trucks computer.

Door sticker listed 20 city / 24 Highway

Good Stuff!
Yes but every place you drive is downhill  from there. I can get 25 to26 if I watch it. Not as steep of hills here. 60 or 65 does make a big difference.
