Headlights peeling? Anyone see this on your ranger?

What is up with your tranny?

The usual, harsh shift, delayed engagement, hanging in gear and delayed shift.

Been a problem since early on, this is the 5th or 6th visit for the transmission, they did the valve body update and updated the software last time.

So, just a normal Ranger transmission, at least in my case

Hate to say this Mike, but the only cure for these symptoms is a transplant...

Nope it's peeling, mine is doing it too, only really started in the last year or so, but then my truck is 4 years older than yours is.

And, you live…..ON THE SUN!

Just checked mine. They're fine. Passenger side is original. Drivers side is about 3 years old, due to a deer strike.

I told the advisor that I would like a new trans, he said now that I'm out of basic and onto powertrain warranty it's easier.

I can only hope

Peeling is from fuel dilution. Make sure you park outside and file a police report ?

It's DIY with vinyl from Ebay...I made a template with frog tape and transferred the shape to the vinyl...pretty easy...

Jim, Use the 303 Graphene Nano spray on them along with all the other plastic, glass, rubber and body. It has super UV protection and you won't have to worry about your headlights hazing down the road.

I can see that you failed math! ?‍

See with 303 it only took them 303 times to get it right where as with 404 it took you 101 times longer and it's still not as good.

Yes, the material they supply is oversized and needs to be trimmed to fit. It is a lesson in wrapping, so mine does not look perfect, but covers everything visible with the hood closed. It is a thick material and good protection.

A good practice in how to vinyl wrap!

OP - are you referring to the clearly defined lines in the plastic or this? The lines are normal.

That is just the plastic drying out, my 2016 CR-V gets cleaned about once every other month with fine medal polish paste and then waxed and they look new again. The kids cars (2014 Accord and 2008 Corolla) headlight covers look opaque and I do the same. Good as new for several months.
