I see that you gave up, but in the future.

Penatrating oil.

A big f'ing hammer, not a little framing hammer, or whatever you were using.

Run the nut down to the end on the threads.

Hit the side of the tie rod with the hammer, don't hit it with your purse.

Tap, not hammer, the bottom of the nut, to help break it free.

Hit the side of the tie rod again and again.

Use heat if necessary.

Use more penetrant.

If this fails,

Using a separator or a pickle fork can damage the seals, so I only use them as a last resort, or if I am replacing the parts anyways.

Alright, so rethinking things a bit, I will not have a shop do it, I will re attempt again at another time.

Not that I want to spend this much on a damn ball joint tool, but this is the one that is listed in the shop manual-

204-592 Lower Arm Ball Joint Separator Tool (freedomracing.com)
Again, penetrating fluid, start applying that 2 days ahead. Get a 5 lb hammer and 2 to 3 very sharp blows to the side and it will pop loose. I have done countless ones and it has worked every single time! Even some heat for a stubborn one will really get it to pop but have never needed to do that. Save your money for a damper‼

Are you saving the old ball joint? If not then run the nut down to the end, tape a socket you dont care about to the nut and hit it with the biggest hammer you got.

You can borrow those tools from AutoZone, Advanced, very .

No ball joint seperator I was able to buy or rent from autozone or O'reillys was tall enough to clear the ball joints. And the one listed in the ranger service manual, I am unable to locate anyone that rents that particular one which I imagine is just taller to clear them.
