I was the chief designer for the Mack Anthem...I'm confused by your comment that they suck...they were professionally designed/engineered by a well known lighting manufacturer to use LED projection from conception and satisfies all FMVSS regulations...almost all new OEM passenger LED projection lamps use similar design without the traditional round eye lens optic that was derived from HID lamp designs which required an internal light cut off plate (like what Lariat uses)...modern LED lamps use a direct LED reflecting off parabolas and do not use a lens or cut off plate...That's a lot of glare as low beam halogen bowls are meant to take less 900 lumens or less, again the engineers designed Halogen headlights for Halogen bulbs. What most people don't get is that excessive glare gives off a false illusion of having better vision at night. There is a reason most non projector LED headlamp units awfully suck that are OEM. Example the Mack Anthem.
awesome thanksI can sometimes this weekend.
You mean chief designer for a Volvo and yes they suck, talk to owners at how bad they fail and suck at throwing the light. Not to mention, a FLAT BOTTOM steering wheel? Should have made it an option and be surprised at what type of steering wheel drivers actually want not the limited "pool" you designers "sample" from. I want to know WHO thought it was a great idea to a finally bring the Titan and then decide let's make it a Daycab only, no no I'm sorry let's put a worthless 36 inch flat top sleeper on it. You really killed that market or was it because Volvo was so scared the Titan would poach from them. Let me tell you something, just because something looks good on paper, doesn't mean it works out well in practice. Tell you the truth, only class 8 tractor I would even consider looking at if I went behind the wheel professionally again would be a Freightliner right now since Kenworth is killing it's bread and butter the W900. You can talk about professionally designed but nothing prepares for true real world use. Did you know that owners really hate the hood of the Anthem too? Because it rattles horribly to where it's down right obnoxiously loud and the so called fix really doesn't solve the problem? Again looks good on paper but not in practice. So get mad, but you really have no idea how bad the Anthem really is out there and how much respect MACK has lost from drivers.I was the chief designer for the Mack Anthem...I'm confused by your comment that they suck...they were professionally designed/engineered by a well known lighting manufacturer to use LED projection from conception and satisfies all FMVSS regulations...almost all new OEM passenger LED projection lamps use similar design without the traditional round eye lens optic that was derived from HID lamp designs which required an internal light cut off plate (like what Lariat uses)...modern LED lamps use a direct LED reflecting off parabolas and do not use a lens or cut off plate...
Wow...very sad to hear that you're so upset about our product....I'm sure the engineering department got a ear full from you too...You mean chief designer for a Volvo and yes they suck, talk to owners at how bad they fail and suck at throwing the light. Don't forget the Mexicans...Pakistani's and Indians have the coolest trucks anyhow. I think we can all agree on that.
They are like a circus on wheels.

Engineering listen to the customer, what a fabulous idea. In the words of Ron White, "Gee, who da thunk it?".Wow...very sad to hear that you're so upset about our product....I'm sure the engineering department got a ear full from you too...
Oh yeah they are the kings nearly forgot! They don't hold a candle to the Japanese "Dekotora" Trucks.
How do you like your Ranger?Engineering listen to the customer, what a fabulous idea. In the words of Ron White, "Gee, who da thunk it?".
It's a counterfeit, looks pretty much like a T6 Global Ranger, but it's not really the real deal. It's like a North Korean counterfeit $100 bill, looks like a real one, feels kinda like a real one, may even smell like a real one, probably snorts nose candy like a real one. But it's not a real $100 bill is it? One Ford stands for "One Ford for the world, One Ford for North America". When you have to reverse engineer a vehicle for one market and where it shares a margin of parts it's not really the same thing now is it? Do I like it? I own one, I have managed to make it rather incredibly fuel efficient with just a few changes under the hood, it's inexpensive to own, I get compliments on it all the time and those are things I like, but the fact I can't do simple things like put a Ranger Raptor Steering wheel on because Global Rangers have an entirely different steering wheel, or swap out lights because different box and different headlight design, I hate that but that's typical of Ford. Millions to Billions spent on what they claim saves costs. Now the difference between a true family of the brand, I grew up Ford most of what I have owned has been Ford is we will criticize. Fanboys believe the brand does no wrong, as I pointed out to a Fanboy once over the Fiesta, Ford could have built a smaller econo-"crapbox" put a Fiesta badge on it and he would be worshipping Ford saying it was a great idea giving the US the Fiesta that way. But again the US Fiesta shared a marginal amount of parts with the global, was a huge disappointment when it launched because people got to see the Euro Fiestas Ford paraded around which had better quality materials and didn't have "bling lights" because some idiot said they wanted bling on the Fiesta and Ford took it seriously for the US market removing the front fogs. Again why reverse engineer for a single market when the most of Europe just says hey let's just ship it over as is and see if it works which by golly it does. It's a mystery even Scooby and the Gang won't be able to solve. How do you like your Ranger?
so it is nice to read examples of what you design sid. I read the "adult toy" thing and was hesitant to ask as this is a pg13 jointI was the chief designer for the Mack Anthem...I'm confused by your comment that they suck...they were professionally designed/engineered by a well known lighting manufacturer to use LED projection from conception and satisfies all FMVSS regulations...almost all new OEM passenger LED projection lamps use similar design without the traditional round eye lens optic that was derived from HID lamp designs which required an internal light cut off plate (like what Lariat uses)...modern LED lamps use a direct LED reflecting off parabolas and do not use a lens or cut off plate...

Mature of you. If you look at the lighting threads you'll see 50% of the people are in denial about the scatter. I tried some drop-ins and pulled them, went full LED housing instead. Even the adjustable ones "set to 3 & 9" threw terrible light above.I swapped my stock halogens back in and put the Auxito bulbs back in their box. I had adjusted the aim down from stock settings and still got flashed on occasion. I then had someone drive my truck at night and I drove their truck. I had them follow me and then we passed going in opposite directions. After experiencing that light spray first person, I knew I had to remove them.
Pointing them at a garage door is not an accurate indicator of the light spray they cause. They are bright though, no doubt.
