Hopefully you'll get lucky and not have to wait to long. Yes, it is a huge rabbit hole you're jumping into. lol Just like our Rangers once you start buying things there's no stopping now! If it wasn't for the $200 tax stamp I'm sure I'd have a lot more than 5.
The tax stamp part is ridiculous to say the least. I blow enough money on dumb stuff I figured at least for the 200 I would get something cool out of it lol. At least that’s how I sold it to myself lol. I’m hoping for some good Black Friday deals. My wallet not so much lol.

I don't have a suppressor but I'm considering going down the rabbit hole. I don't have anything with a threaded barrel yet but they don't seem to be that bad. I just hate paying for the "right to buy" something.

I only have my AR’s and M1A that are threaded. I want to get a couple bolt guns that have threaded barrels and thread one I already have. I’m with you, paying the government more money than I already have to definitely drives me crazy.

Finally pulled the trigger and bought a suppressor. Went to a local shop that deals with them a lot and is very knowledgeable. Ended up with the Dead Air Nomad 30. Finger prints and paperwork are completed. Now to wait on the wizards at the ATF and Silencer Shop to do what they do lol. I can already see this is about to become an expensive Pandoras Box I just opened lol.
As an update. I just received my form 4 approval email from the ATF. So hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow!

Not really sure lol. My guess is maybe being the only person on earth with my full legal name. I highly doubt there is another person with it. The real answer is probably dumb luck lol. The guy at the shop said all approvals lately have been back in a couple weeks or less. I’m thinking about getting another one tomorrow. Just not sure which one. First world problems at their finest lol.

That must be nice. There is a guy in my area with my exact name (which is unfortunate because my last name changed when I was a child) and I mean EXACT: first, middle, last, who assaulted a police officer. When I was in my 20s, this lead to a lot of stop and detain situations until they realized I was not a 5'2'' gang banger with a giant back tattoo. I spent two hours looking at my front door from the curb all because the temp tag on my 1985 Toyota 4Runner rolled down with the back window.

I did learn a secret tactic for quick approvals. Some say its a myth but anything with a background check sped way up. Do a ride along with your local PD.

I was buying a gun and the counter said the wait time was 4-6 hours. I was walking to my car to go get lunch and drive home for a bit and they called my phone as I reached the parking lot. I had been approved. This, of course, was before the super new and awesome 3 day waiting period we have.

EDIT: Thank you for joining my on this weird tangential thought this morning.

I have thoughts like that some days lol. I was wondering if being pre vetted had any influence. I’ve enjoyed the pleasure of having clearance level checks in the past (insert lots of sarcasm)? the worse part is I want to buy several more. My issue in the past was the wait period. I’m a patient person until it comes to wanting something awesome. I’ll gladly go to the store to buy something that cost a few dollars more just to have it than wait a couple days for it to show up in the mail lol.

I don't put my ssn on my forms when I buy a fire arm. My first name is Langley so there's not many around!

I picked up a 1851 replica made in 1972 for $84 + shipping! The timing was off, so I completely disassembled it, deep cleaned it, and touched up the finishes. That fixed the timing issue! I carved up the grips to add The Man With No Name grip medallions (I know! Blondie's gun in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly was a cartridge gun). I'm currently working on a desk display stand for it, and I've loaded some paper cartridges.

Couldn’t pass up this deal today at PSA. 700.00 after rebate. Beretta PMXS. Brace and suppressor in the very near future.

I have a PX4 storm sub compact....if the mags would work it would be a handy item to pick up.
I wish there was PSA around here. Seems like they offer great prices an the great sales.
