Glove Box Damper

I can't stand it. Takes forever to open my glove box. Is this really needed?

If you re-route the fuel that is getting into your oil to the glove box damper oil reservoir it will thin out the oil and should speed up the lowering of the glove box door. There's a thread about this mod around here somewhere.

If serious, no, you can just disconnect the little string and it will be gone.

I still can not believe Ford put a damper on the glovebox and not the tailgate! What's funny is that all those complaining about us adding dampers to our tailgates because it's so light, your're the first one to bring up the damper glovebox.?

I have the same problem with my glove box but on top of that, one of my cables is slack.

Seems I got screwed again by cost savings from Ford. My glovebox has no string damper on it. It drops down just like my tailgate did before with a thud, then all the crap comes flying out. My build date is 10/2020 XLT sport with 301A

The reason for the damper on the glovebox - Ford got sued to Pluto because someone got a knee bruise when the glovebox full of Mac D's ketchup, straws and napkins fell open as the engine tune kicked the truck to 127mph...the glove box also soiled that persons pants or so they claimed...?

You might be able to see if it you look under there on the door side of the glove box. It looks like a big white cylinder. Someone might have removed it from the glove box and forgot to put it back on before sending it to the dealership.

I did on my lunch hour. Nothing there except the post to hook on the loop. No white tube spring or line to be found! I got JACKED ?
