New truck owner , what do those hooks do?

Besides look good and add unperceived HP and peddle response, allow you to get a pull out of a ditch. mud or sand when you've stuck your behind Unconfirmed rumor says that one of the right hook bolts also holds one of the engine mounts in place...unconfirmed I say ...just kidding...Happy New Year.

Paint kept chipping so I decided to go with powder coated shackles...

I searched your build thread, and couldn't find the source of these shackles. Can you share a link with me please?

These are OEM...the one that came with my truck...painted red...

Edit...sorry...the thumb nail didn't show the lower image so I though you were asking about the painted hooks lol...

The shackle mount is from Rough Country and the red shackles are from Ebay...don't remember which one but they're not hard to find...

OK...I was looking at Maggie today and wondering what she would look like with RED front tow hooks. I thought about painting the factory hooks but then if I didn't like the look I would have to paint them back.....or I could just buy the factory RED hooks and not worry about painting.
I was wondering if anyone has the RED hooks with Magnetic....if so, can you please post a picture or two to help me decide if I want to go this route?

Hope you were able to make a choice. I was debating the same thing on my velocity blue tremor. Not sure with the red nostrils if it would look good with a little more red (tow hooks). Still debating…

All I want, is red tow hooks, and the Tremor grill inserts, for our Australian trucks. That's all. I can't even figure a way to replicate the hooks on our trucks, must have spent an hour looking on the weekend.

By the way … here are my red fronts … standard from factory.

I've decided to remove my red tow hooks and get my old black ones powder coated to a gun metal'ish color that comes closer to the bumper and grill color. The red hooks on my rapid red truck just didn't look right to me after a while.

i just sanded my factory black tow hooks, cleaned them with some paint thinner and painted them with some Tremclad red enamel paint.
