Why do you need one? There are sensors in the front bumper to show you how close you're getting to whatever is in your path.

I don't know about the OP, but this would be useful for low-speed 4-wheeling. The ability to see what's directly in front of the vehicle as you crest over top a rock or something would be handy.

That's fair. But he specifically mentioned parking camera so I assumed he wanted it for getting closer to parked cars to make sure you're not gonna hit something there.

Having had both the camera AND the sensors on my Explorer, I'm very disappointed that the Ranger doesn't also have both. The sensors are nice but you are still guessing, as well as trusting that it's seeing everything in front of you. With the camera, it's really reassuring to know exactly how far you've got. From a personal standpoint, it is also helpful when I'm attaching my Explorer to my MH as a toad. I know exactly where my towbar is and I don't have to make two or three tries to get it just right.

I'm planning to add one but not sure if I want the hassle of pulling the HU out of the dash. It didn't look like a simple job for that.

Bump.... looking into the wireless front camera. Has anyone done a wireless such as this https://store.auto-vox.com/solar-wireless-backup-camera.html
I have a wireless camera on my Motor home since the OEM one burned out and they want $500 to replace it. The wireless (depending on which one you get) has a clear (1080p) video but does suffer from latency at higher speeds. This is not a factor for me as it is for backing into camping spots or doing 3 or 4 point u-turns due to taking the wrong trail :) . Mine came with 2 cameras that provides each view or split view, cameras are ip65 water proof and small enough to mount in the grill, only issue for me is no room on the dash to mount the 7" monitor in the Ranger. And I am NOT tearing the dash out!

Thank you. First I don't want to spend too much money and 2nd I would just use it for parking, nothing high speed. Lastly, it's just plug and play and I can use it for my other cars as well
