I mounted a wireless light on the tonneau cover and it works well. A couple of 6 inch round steel plates were attached to the cover with screws and nuts. I like that it is high enough to be easily seen.

Put the two shims in place and the screw will go in all the way. Adding the shims does not make the step much lower.

I tried the stick on mirrors but they take up too much of the truck mirror for me. I went with the YASOKO Adjustable mirror that clamps on the mirror housing and they work well. Can be mounted on top or bottom of mirror housing.

Apparently it doesn't matter as far a performance goes. I installed body up and shaft down so the body has protection from getting dinged with rocks or debris and water and mud won't stay on the seal that way.
