Howdy everyone! First question from a new forum member...

I didn't notice this until after I bought the truck, and have been looking through images on the forum and can't get a clear view of other trucks. The front camera (the one behind the mirror) has a "pinstripe" across the opening that I swear I don't see on other vehicles. Can anyone confirm if this is "normal" or a "defect"? It looks very similar to the inlay on the back windows for defrosting the glass, but it just doesn't seem right to me that it would be in the field of view for a safety camera.

Does this look normal to you?

If nothing else, the "OCD" in me doesn't sit well with it not being level across the glass (or the opening for that matter).. it's every bit as slanted as my crappy photography!

I suspect this is a "do-over" and will need to go back to the dealer for it's first warranty claim...

Any wisdom out there?

Thanks!

Totally normal. The line is used to calibrate/align the camera system.

Interesting! Thanks for the reassurance!

I guess I'll just hope everything comes at me from an angle, then, if that's supposed to align the system... the world better start leaning over! :)

Interesting, I always thought it was some sort of defrost line to keep the glass clear.
