Hey guys, new here. Bought a brand new cactus grey XLT on Friday. I was looking at the front number today and noticed some paint lines in the front bumper. Looks like it was painted and masked off so it could be painted on the truck. What are your thoughts? I also attached a picture my dealer sent me of another truck (darker grey) that he says the paint lines are normal. I certainly don’t think so. Looking for input. Thanks!

Funny, my Cactus Gray Tremor looks identical to yours, with the edge and black coloration. I had the hood and fenders ppf'd and when I picked it up, I honestly thought they had done the bumper as well, I was so confused.

Simply take it to the dealership and have them start the claim. Yes it is a.pain, but it is fixable

Insist it gets fixed. I’m sure Ford will happily pay to have it done right. I would think that dealers that don’t have their own body shop (many farm this work out) get very little out of a fix like this except for a lot of paperwork and might be reluctant to deal with it.

We have a member on here who is a warranty person at a dealership. I’m embarrassed to say I don’t recall his handle but maybe someone could @mention him here and he could should shed some light on what best to do in this situaction.

EDIT:I recalled the member’s name. Hoping @21Blackout sees this and offers some advice.

if this is factory paint work, (which is definitely disappointing) would you prefer to keep the factory paint or have a body shop/dealership fix it? I have a fear of aftermarket paint not matching properly

In the stack of papers they normally have you sign when you purchase a new vehicle there is usually a form stating there may be repair work from transport damage etc.
A lot of vehicles have minor scuffs and dings repaired before you take delivery.

True - and I’d bet they‘d be motivated to not disclose it after the sale because making it right might be on their dime.

Those are just the painted over plastic mold lines. It is OEM paint as the paint quality with a Ford is lackluster at best these days. (Pardon the dirt as it gets used for truck stuff.)
