As far as I know, No you cannot have (Park Lights) as the only light programed as DRL.
You can however set them as (Included) with DRL.
If you have the Halogen Headlight Assemblies - This will include the (dimmed) half of the parking light bulb along with the Side Marker and Taillight (Parking) and License Plate Lights

DRL Include Park Lamps
726-26-02 - 0000-0002-0057 - x1xx-xxxx-xxxx
0=Disabled 1=Enabled
This will allow (Side Marker & Taillamps & License Plate Lights) On with the DRL's

A work around alternative is to disable the DRL (Via IPC Menu) and then install a set of Raptor Grille Lights and wire them to a tapped (Ignition) power source - for the 2023 that would be Fuse #19 as the popular Fuse #24 has been eliminated for that model year.
This will give you a (Always-On) Amber Light when the engine is running (Day or Night)

Now for other options for (Amber) DRL's are:

Set the (Turn Signal) Bright half of the Parking Light Bulb - As your DRL
(This may require getting a set of Switch Back) LED Bulbs) (?)
Other will need to confirm as I have the Lariat LED Housings

DRL (Switchback) w/Turn Signals
726-26-02 - 0000-0002-0057 - xxx1-xxxx-xxxx
0=Disabled 1=Enabled

or
Get a set of aftermarket FOG Lights (Amber) and set those as DRLs

Here are the Forscan Options for DRL Configuration.

DRL Lamp Mask Configure
726-45-01 0A01-0200-0080 (Halo)
726-45-01 0A01-1000-008E (LED) xxxx-10xx-xxxx
01=DRL (Disable) -02=Low Beams - 04=Front Fogs - 08=Front Turns 10-Dedicated DRL 20=Hi Beams
40=Low Beams +Dedicated DRL 7F= (All of the above options)
This allows + additional DRL options (if desired) if none leave this as (10) if LED Housings

DRL Lamp Configure
726-50-01 0280 (Halo)
726-50-01 108E (LED) - 10xx
01=DRL Disabled 02=DRL Low Beams 04=DRL Front Fogs 08=DRL Front Turn Lamps 10=Dedicated DRL 20-DRL Hi Beams
40=DRL Low Beams +Dedicated DRL
This ties to (what is the main DRL Circuit and this also applies Power to (Pin#6) Dedicated DRL Circuit (10)
Note: The Halogen Housings - Do not have Pin #6, this is only for the LED Housings,

It all boils down to what Headlight Assembly you have, the wire harness to the Headlights are all the same - the change occurs within the Headlight Assembly itself and how it is pinned.
The BCM programming is limited to the above options and the only way around it is to add additional lighting and the associated wiring.
Thank you for such a detailed response! That is awesome! I will have to play with those and figure out which I prefer or if I want to go with an aftermarket solution. I have an XLT with halogen headlights. Had some Silverstars in that burned out a lot fast that I hoped and when I think about the amount of daytime driving I do, this made sense with all of the extra time on. I like the look of the new trucks with the amber parking lamp DRLs. I do have amber fogs and that is an option. Again thanks for the excellent feedback.

Looking to purchase what is needed to make changes to FORSCAN.

Laptop
Cable to connect laptop to OBD2 port
Software license

Anything else?

What is the cost of what of everything except the laptop, I have that.

Also would what I need for the Ranger also work for an F150?

Thanks.

Those three things, that's it.
The best reply here is to get _the_only_cable_ that the FORScan people recommend.
https://forscan.org/download.html
It looks like they are running around $70 these days. I have one as well as hundreds more of us. I've never had a problem with mine.

The FORScan link will tell you how to get a license. It's easy.

Strange that they don't have one of eBay's HUGE links to that same adapter cable, but I didn't spend much time on that page.

I use the Vgate vLinker FS OBD2 USB Adapter for FORScan HS/MS-CAN Auto Switch
$31.99 from Amazon

It is on the Forscan approved list.

It there a functional difference between the OBD Link Ex and the vLinker FS?

Ah, a new cable. Cool!
I just realized that mine is over two years old. There should be a better one out there by now.
And there is.

I do not see a way to turn it off (disable) the warning in the As-Built files
However, if you are consistently running the truck with low fuel levels for this to be annoying.
You need to understand it's not good for the fuel pump (cooling & lubrication) of the pump comes from the fuel.

I understand your desire to turn those alerts off. Sure, they’re meant to be helpful but not everyone needs help, right? A lot of folks have a pre-flight procedure that includes turning off ASS, locking out higher gears, selecting their favourite drive mode, adjusting the mirrors, and a quick sweep of all gauges, including fuel.

My pre-flight involves plugging in my phone and putting my coffee in the cup holder. Then, I’m on my way without a care in the world - just me enjoying my Ranger.

If it wasn’t for those alerts, I’d likely run out of gas. 🤪

Push the gas pedal harder and faster and the Lamp will come on quicker.
