Ford ranger reverse camera keeps blowing fuse

Hey guys my 2018 ford ranger keeps blowing the fuse for the reverse camera, have checked over the whole look and contact cleaned all the plugs and can’t seem to find the problem.

I replace the fuse and it will last for about a minute then blow again.

have plugged in a scanner and it’s showing no codes at all

Here is the 2019 North American wiring diagram for the rear camera. I don't know if it is applicable to New Zealand Ranger. Could be the DC-DC converter or the camera itself or shorted wiring to each of those components.

If you have a multi meter you can start checking the wires for continuity.

The first place I'd look is at the point where the wiring harness enters the tailgate. Flexing over time from opening/closing can break wiring. I've had to repair the harnesses on several trunk lids and tailgates.

Keep in mind that fuse #23 feeds more than just the Rear Camera.
So, a quick isolation - pull both taillamps and disconnect them.
Then try placing in reverse - does the fuse still blow?
If no, inspect the taillamps for moisture.
If yes, then perform a wiring check for short to ground

1. CCM
2. Left / Right - (BLIS) Modules
3. Rear Camera
4. 4WD - Switch
5. IPMA

I have checked this over the weekend, pulled it out and checked this with a multimeter, seems to be fine

Does the fuse still blow with this tailgate connector disconnected?

This circuit is easy to isolate if you look at the (splice) points.
C408 disconnected if fuse blows - then its upstream and can be CCM, 4WD Switch and or IPMA
If it does not - then everything upstream is good.
and now we need to look at S410 (this splice off the BLIS and Rear Cam)

So, disconnect C411 (Connector) feeding into the tailgate, do fuse still blow?
If yes, then disconnect (each taillamp) 1 at a time, to isolate left or right.

Just a FYI (Note) S410 has been noted as a problem area for corrosion, this can possibly be the issue and blowing the fuse.
I am suspecting this is the issue (if you have it isolated down to the wiring) S410 is highly suspect.
Just something to make note of when you are isolating the circuit, as once it is isolated then it's easier to proceed with pinpointing the exact issue.
