The OEM PCV hose will be easy to spot - just like the blue hose in the diagram above. The Ford Performance Air/Oil Separator was engineered perfectly and fits as if it was there from the factory. When you install the Air/Oil Separator, it will be very clear where both hoses go based on their shape, bends/curves, etc. Put a light coating of oil on all o-rings so the new hoses snap on without putting extra stress on the plastic connector they snap into.
Thanks for that tip! Any kind of oil will do?

Yes - I just used some clean motor oil - a light coat on my finger applied to the o-rings.

Emptied the ford performance catch can yesterday had a good amount of fluid. Definitely a gas smell just like the mishimoto catch can. This was after around 500 miles after installation.

I hear you don't have to break the orange connector. There is some sort of tool to disconnect it.Is that correct?

It’s real easy to break, don’t need the tool at all

Oof. Well I'm glad it works becuase mine arrives here soon. My mishimoto catch can would let the vapors escape and I would smell it through my HVAC... Hopefully this is better at keeping vapors contained!

I k
The blue clips are quick-detachable - no need to break them as they are reusable.
I know but just in case one screws up can you buy them?

Hello everyone!

I finally decided to install the O/AS on my 2020 Ranger. She already has 55k miles on her, but better late than never, right? I found the package after coming home from a 12hr nightshift, so I decided to just have a peek in the box, check out the parts, because I was way too tired and there was no way installing this would be a good idea right then. Smart, right? Well, I am sure y'all can guess how that went! Destroying the upper OEM hose connection first and then not being able to get the lower one apart didn't seem wise, so I only chipped away enough of the black plastic collar of the upper hose connection to see how it works and get an idea what I'd need to do down below where I wouldn't be able see much. I left enough of the upper connection intact for the hose to stay locked in place, then started chipping away piece by piece on the lower connection. I don't have an angle pick, but a small flat screwdriver did the job. After a few minutes of feeling like I was defusing a bomb I had enough of the black plastic removed to let the black hose just slipped off and leave the orange ring behind. Carefully breaking that piece was not difficult, and the rest was smooth sailing. The whole job took 80 minutes, but I have to admit the an hour of that was me pacing through the garage and giving myself pep-talks (also, there may have been a breathing exercise to help calm myself. Nightshift does funny things to me). Knowing what I know now I could get the job done in 20 minutes, not easy-peasy, but definitely not as scary as I feared it would be.

My thanks to everyone sharing their experiences, you were a big help!

Here's an update about 2,000 miles after install. Mostly city driving, a little highway, and about 20 miles of forest roads.

Monitor it more in the winter. My catch can goes a long time in the summer, but come winter it rapidly fills. And you don't want it to fill to the point where it sucks the liquid into the intake track.
