Mishimoto 19-21 Ranger Baffled Oil Catch-Can Kit

Ford-Performance 19 Ranger Air/Oil Separator

..............................................................................................................................................

So I've had the Mishimoto Catch-can kit installed since it's very first oil change roughly four years ago now.

During the winter/cold months, I had to keep an eye on it more often due to longer idle/warm-up times.
During the summer, for example, I had a 1/4 to 1/2 cup after an 8-hr/500+ mile nonstop/cannon-ball drive...
That's checking & emptying before I started then checking & emptying again when I arrived...

Last spring/early-summer,
I got around to install the Ford-Performance one that mounts on a different set of tubing up front of the engine/motor.

I've noticed that I had to empty the Mishimoto-cup more often now...
Since the cold/winter has started...
There have been times now that I gotta check and/or dump out twice a week!
Plus, when it's been straight +20F [-7C] and colder for a straight week, the mixture turned to sludge/ice too.

Has anyone noticed or experienced [w/ this combo setup] this too?

My '19 Ranger has a bit more than 62,000 miles. At 55,000 miles I installed the Ford Catch Can. I don't have data for summer yet, but in emptying it about every 1,500 miles in the cold, dry climate of Wyoming, the discharge from the catch can (~ 1/4 cup) is mostly water with a enough oil residue to make the mix "milky." I have no idea whether this amount or mix is normal given winter conditions and miles on the truck.

I live 30 miles from the nearest grocery store and 10 miles from our post office (no home delivery). Every effort is made to avoid short drives, IOW, not starting the truck unless it's full warmed up.

I just installed the Ford Performance Catch Can and was wondering what is the easiest way to dump this one out? There was no instructions at all except for installing it.

Thanks for your help,

Disconnect the two breather hoses (push the green tab counter clockwise) and lift the container off it's guide. Then dump the contents out one of the hose fittings. Reinstall. Five minutes.

Wow,

I never knew the Ford-Performance one needed to be drained/emptied at all...

Guess I will have to try emptying it...

I empty my catch can almost weekly during the colder months. It's normal due to the condensation.

So how is the dual setup working out?

During the Winter/Cold months:

Weekly
The Ford Performance "cube" barely any real measurable amount... teaspoon - teaspoon & half?
The Mishimoto cup typically 1/2 to 3/4 full regularly

Call me crazy or surreptitious, I warm up my truck before leaving... up to 10 minutes of idling in the bitter cold

Spring/Summer/Fall months:

Bi-Weekly or more
The Ford Performance "cube" barely a teaspoon or so
The Mishimoto cup roughly 1/4 to 1/2 full
