If you're referring to a catch can? I have one, on my 2019 XL. Works well. No complaints. Only issue was installing. My Mechanic had a heck of a time. I feel that was in my opinion. It was my truck being 2 wheel drive.

Removing the OEM PCV hose at the lower end was "challenging" because it has tamper-proof connectors that have to be "broken" in order to remove. Due to the tight space, it's hard to reach the lower connection and there are lots of things that seem to scratch and cut your hands up (e.g. zip ties, sharp edges, etc.). My hand looked like it had been in a battle with a cat with sharp claws.

What’s the best way to break those connectors?

Before I received mine I had read all the comments about the lower connection being tough to break. So I looked at how it was constructed. The end is essentially two pieces. I used side cutters to break the tabs that hold the two pieces together. Once I did that (took about 45 seconds) the two pieces separated and you could easily get the second piece (the one with the tamper proof tabs) off. Took me all of a few minutes. I would never had investigated if it hadn't read all the comments in this forum about how tough it was to get to, and break, the tamper proof tabs.

I apologize for the lack of pictures.

I used a 90-degree pick tool. Pictures are difficult because it's hard to get a camera to focus on that location.

After I do that do I need to twist or push down on the orange part or just pull it off?

The Rangers separator from Ford is not normally the one people use first. I have one but I found out the Driver side is where the majority of the issues are. The is Crank Case Vent. The PCV system that goes to your Intake Manifold. Ford doesn't have one that I know of. I suggest looking here if you want one for sure. Best prices I have seen.

Aftermarket PCV cans normally are for the Driver side and catch all the garb. My ford one hasn't caught jack in 2000 miles. It might have a slight advantage for the intake air quality but mostly it is small protection piece.

Sorry maybe I missed something, I didn't read you bought. Well then yeah, it is a

You gotta Break the orange connectors off. I cut mine with a small red pointy cable cutter. Just chewed that bad boy up and cracked it off. Satisfying to be honest "Little bastard". Orange connectors are one time use only items. Then you fit the Quick disconnects. Ford is Weird.

Mount the catch on a bracket in front of the Radiator fan on the engine. There are 2 small 8-10 mil bolts covered buy hoses and a hanger bracket. These will go back on after but mine fit back on loose poorly. Use the provided bracket for the tongue mount if I remember correct. It is convenet to service though.

Do yourself a favor and remove the hoses from the Can first. Lift and poor out the contents from the lower intel. I see people unscrew the whole can. That is not how is was designed. Find another excuse to use that Snap On tool rusting in your box.
