You don't.
Just make a mental note to avoid those "chocolate drop" cookies come Christmas time.
Or make sure you're the one making them. lol

I think I’m gonna use that image for our Christmas cards this year.

Little over 10 years ago I was diagnosed with Brugada Syndrome. Before that, they didn't know what was wrong with me and so they ran a camera through my heart. Idk if it was intentional but I woke up in the middle of it. I remember the Dr telling me everything was clean and I had no build up.

Since then I've been seeing a cardiologist every year and every year my cholesterol is high. Doesn't get higher but consistently the same #s. He says he doesn't think it's an issue and it's probably just "normal" for me. I do try to stay active and I watch what I eat. So he isn't to concerned. My GP keeps "threatening" me with medication.

My mom also has high cholesterol. She walks 5 to 10 miles a day every morning. She eats relatively healthy and is in pretty good shape for being in her 60s. She cut out all red meat, amongst other things and her cholesterol didn't get any lower. Her GP is now giving her meds.

Last month I saw my cardiologist and told him about my mom. He feels it's possible it's just genetic and he doesn't see a need for me or my mom to be on meds. To make sure all is fine, he sent me to get a cat scan of my heart. Idk how or the details but it'll show him if my high cholesterol is causing any build up. Results came back that I'm good to go. So no reason for meds. I wish my mom's Dr did the same for her instead of just throwing medication at her.

I'll be talking to her about getting this cat scan.
That sounds like today's mechanics, just throwing parts at it until it's fixed.
But unfortunately, it's partly the patient's fault. People would rather take a pill than change their eating and exercise habits.

With total erosion of corporate loyalty to its employees, can anyone explain why we're still hypnotized that its prudent to give 2 weeks notice prior to you voluntarily separating employment? Why do employers need that, but employers do not find that employees need that when decisions are made for separation?

In my employment experience, its been a "two finger" notice, not "2 weeks" ... 4 fingers sometimes... (2 from each side)...

Wow, where was the UAW when all this happened? It's sad that someone who was obviously and asset to the company ($200,000 salary) is fired over a $1.95 cookie! He even showed them proof from his bank transaction and they still let him go. I'm glad he found another job but what an ordeal to have to go through over a lousy $1.95 cookie. It's still unbelievable they didn't have his back!

He definitely needs a better diet though.
Although he didn't steal the cookie, I'm more interested in how he was caught...not that I could teach him anything...
