May be a silly question but...
I always hand wash Truck and wife's Subi using a quality car wash soap.
When you use a foam "gun" hose attachment, and spray your vehicles down, do you also have to/should you also use a mitt or cloth to "wash" it down and rinse ? Or does the foam solution basically clean and then you rinse ?
Never have used one before and I see many of you use one.
I don't let my Ranger and wife's Subi get "dirty dirty" just the usual road dirt from regular driving.
And, which one is good quality and recommended ???

Steve, I use the cannon and then a soft car wash brush on a pole that I can adjust the length on. Another bucket with rinse water and start from the roof and work my way down. The soft brush keeps from scratching but gets the dirt off. Then power wash again and lastly use the foam gun cleaned from soap and add a little water and dishwasher jet dry to thin the water so you don’t get spots on the last rinse off.

Only thing it seems to have over a bucket type hand wash is that there's always foam rather than just the wash in the bucket. I always wash in the morning when sun is on other side of house, and truck is in shade. Seems like you can do a whole side at once rather than just a panel, and rinse.
I get 90% of water off with blower, and hand dry , so NO water spots on Truck.

Have to look on Amazon for one....any recommendations ??? Looking at the Swift Jet Foam Gun....

Jet Dry? Thanks Rick - going to give it a try - the water at the cottage is as hard as rocks.

Steve, I’m using a Griot's Garage Brilliant Finish Foam Cannon. Yes I know it pricey but got mine off eBay for half new. Customer return. The reason I went that way was I was super impressed by the foam it produced that had real staying time on the truck. My son was the one who demo’d it for me and said, remember when you taught me to buy quality and not price! Well this is it. Nice thing is they’re rebuildable too.

Be a man, use the brush at the local car wash.
I have done that lots of times. I just make sure to blast the brush with high pressure water when I do the initial rinse. Also, Cactus Gray don't get water spots.

Mines got some scratches but truck also gets covered in gravel/concrete dust nearly daily.
Keep a bottle of scratch remover wax handy.

My silver paint doesn't show water spots much either.

You still need a mitt or brush. I use a foam cannon I got from walmart that attatchches to my pressure washer. Advantage is way more suds to carry away dirt than just using a bucket of soapy water. I like to use a mitt up high and a soft brush on a pole down low on my rockers.

Let me ask my wife as I let her do this after I let her do the oil changes and tire rotations.
