UPDATE!
One of the shops called back and told me after thinking it over it would be bad customer service to deny a reasonable customer request. ?
My Pennzoil Ultra Platinum diet is still alive!

Any Florence SC area peeps here? Is peeps still okay to say? ?

Anyway, short story long but I am having a hell of a time finding a local mechanic who will allow me to provide my own oil and filter. Never had this issue when I lived in Raleigh, NC.
I called (2) places already and was told “we cannot trust the customer to know what oil and filter is correct for their vehicle.”
So before I continue to call places I thought I’d see if I can get a recommendation or 2.
I may have to abandon my dream of a steady Pennzoil Ultra Platinum diet for my Ranger and just use generic bulk oil. ?
Oh, and doing it myself isn’t an option. I want my truck to live!

Valvoline Quicky Lube. Valvoline Synthetic is perfectly fine stuff. Change it every 5k and it doesn't matter much what filter they put on.

I’ve noticed that 99.9% of places here only use Valvoline. ?
I wonder since Cale Yarborough (may he rest in peace) lived nearby and was almost always associated with Valvoline. That’s probably not the case but I’ll go with it.
There is a franchise called Strickland Brothers (yes they use Valvoline also) who have rave reviews.
I may take my wife’s car there and see how they do.

They probably make a good profit on buying bulk oil and the filters too.

I only use Penzoil Ultra Platinum also. I used to be a Mobile One or Castrol GTX only guy but after watching several video's from "the oil guy" on YouTube and the Ultra Platinum is the only oil made from LP gas vice crude and in tests showed less wear particulate matter after controled tests made me a believer.
