What must be done to fit 35s? Or even 34s? 33s are over rated ?

a couple of the members here have / do run 35s. Squatchranger is the one that comes to mind. Not sure what it takes but he would know.

Get a bigger truck.
At the least, you will have to get a 4 - 6 inch lift. No cheap or easy task.

I have the Mickey Thompson 255/85R17s on some Bronco steelies. I had to replace the front collision bars with some high clearance ones. I went with the Eibach Pro-Truck coilovers with SPC upper control arms and 1" wheel spacer in the front and the the reserve shocks in the rear with a 1" block and the 1" spacer. Front tires rub at full lock and going over mean bumps or holes.

I briefly ran a set of 35x12.5 for an off-roading trip. I am running around a 3 in lift in the front and icon leaf packs in the rear in the 2nd option. Rear fit perfectly but the front requires both crash bars removed as well as there is a plastic brick behind the felt on the cab side that needs to be removed. Also the rim offset and width needs to be perfect or it also rubs on the fender corner while turning. The rims in the picture were too wide and rubbed a little while turning at very low speeds

that setup looks healthy! wish someone made a fender tub kit for 5g trucks to have more tire friendly space.

Briefly? What size tires are you running now and why did you change?

My brother had the spare set for his Toyota that we threw on for a weekend of wheeling. I usually run 275/70r18 which is a 33 tire, but the only reason I’m staying with that size is because I tow frequently near the max and don’t want to push my luck

About 6" lift and high-clearance crash bars.
BDS makes a couple of kits.

I run 285/75r17 (~34") on the OME HD kit. I have 1" strut spacers on top of the struts in front, so I am running ~3" up front and I have the 2.2" leaf springs. I barely graze on the crash bar mounts, so I will be cutting them off the frame. If you want to do this size, 2.5" lift in front and take the crash bars out, as well as the waffle boxes behind the fender liner. I am using OE wheels with 1" spacers. With only that, you will kiss the crash bar mounts (the part of the crash bar that you can't take off without cutting).

35s take more, but I plan to work that out, hopefully next year. I need to decide if I am going with a 35x11.5 or a 35x12.5. I like the look of the 12.5 but I think the 11.5 will fit easier.

I have 34's on mine right now. I may go back to 33's not sure yet. Rubs turning into a driveway. Crash bars and egg crates removed. Truck is just leveled.
