I will be disappointed if he doesn't have a chain drive wallet
Unfortunately, @AzScorpion and his tiny, but mighty, bolt cutters liberated my wallet and spent it all on dampers and graphene!

actual photo of him at work =D

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
I have lived in New England my entire life and got my first pickup in the late 70s and have had one ever since. My experience is that all terrain tires don't work as well as all season tires in the snow. The General Grabber ATx tires that came on my Tremor were the first all terrain tires I have had that has been good enough that I didn't feel the need to swap to dedicated winter tires.
Only a bit is snow experience with the Generals on my Tremor. Seemed pretty good. As to off road tires and snow, back when I had my Frontier NISMO (commonly referred to as the POS) I replaced a K02’s with a set of Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. We lived in the mountains of NC at the time. Lot of snow. Fair amount of ice. To this day I still remember how stunned I was at those tires and their snow, and ice, ability.
When my Tremor needs rubber (long time from now) I’ll most likely go back with Generals as I want to do 5 tire rotations. (Have to buy a wheel for the spare before then.) However, if the original spare is too old or giving any other indication of not being up to the task, then Duratracs it will be for me.

Yeah, you look at the tread on mine and the lugs are laid out differently than those on a street tire, but the depth isn't much different. They're quiet on the highway but not very aggressive for off-road usage. Maybe should call them most-(but not all) terrain tires.
FYI, if you look at AT tires on the Tire Rack site you will notice that they have the all terrain tires categorized as Street/All Terrain or Off Road/All Terrain. The difference in appearance is how aggressive the tread is.

So they are forecasting snow for us in North Alabama. First, pray because people here freak out. Second, I have just put Falken Wildpeaks AT4W tires on my 22 Ranger. I’ve really been impressed with them so far. Anyone know how good they handle the snow that gets it more than we do?

I have the AT3W and do great in snow. I would think the AT4W would also.

Much better in snow than packed snow or icy conditions though.

There are other members here with the AT4W so maybe they will chime in.

We got around 10 inches this weekend here. I have been out several times, even during the height of the storm, with no issues. Only used 4H once and that was on a really steep hill. Made it around fine on the AT4W.

WE got 14" here in Topeka and my neighborhood does not get plowed by the city. My FX-4 came with the Hankook DynaPro's and they were not good in the snow. I ended up buying a set of brand new Tremor rims and tires probably 3 1/2 years ago and I will say that the General Grabbers have been fantastic in the snow. I had no problem bombing through the snow yesterday and today.

I put some firewood in the bed for weight. I gotta say the Michelin Defenders did a damn good job pushing snow with the hitch-mounted plow. Even when it warmed up just enough to make thick, heavy slush.
