How about I pick up @subquark in NH on my way down from ME?
:stop: I have a better idea, I'll come up there.😜

I already had one house trashed from this place I don't need another one. Besides, I don't think David is housebroken yet. 🤣

Well after almost a year of wanting to get the Maverick I pulled the trigger. I still have my Ranger and will for at least 5 more years but wanted a retirement vehicle and the 2026 Maverick Lariat Hybrid AWD was too tempting. So far it's awesome. I did sell my 1999 Taco and paid cash for the Maverick. With gas prices around $5.00/gallon here in Oregon I needed a retirement vehicle I could drive around town and trips to the beach at 35-40 MPG. Gas prices will never appreciably go down so I did it. Now I have Sammy (The Red Rocker as in Sammy Hagar) to go with Lucille my Ranger. Now Lucille has a little brother. What do you all think?

You will not be disappointed.
I sold my 2019 Ranger and bought a 2025 Maverick lariat hybrid with 4k towing.
I have 9000 miles on it and live getting 38 plus average mileage including towing my enclosed 2 place snowmobile trailer.
Enjoy.

How's the acceleration in that hybrid?
It’s nearly as good as the Maverick with the 2.0 turbo.
I drive both before buying and the difference was negligible in acceleration but getting an extra 10 plus miles per gallon sure is nice.

I have that exact truck on order. Received an email couple of days ago that it has been built and off the assembly line. Not sure how long it will take to get here, however. This will be my retirement vehicle as well. 110 days to go! (Yes, I am counting) Congrats on the purchase.

W00t! A candy apple red one - nice!

Too bad I'm too much of a fat a$$ to ride in the bed of the Maverick! =D

Pick me up at the T&A Truck Stop, they have an all-can-eat breakfast buffet! =p

I retired in January (yay!). But, I don’t see how gas savings could ever offset the cost of a new vehicle, so I plan to just drive the Ranger as long as it’s reliable. Now, if you just want a new vehicle, I get it. 😉

It has a bigger motor than our Rangers 2.5 but not turbo. I have only had it a week so the jury is out for the acceleration. LOL
It is a 2.5 4 cyl Atkinson designed engine. Made for hybrids.

Or maybe the 2.0 Ecoboost if you went ICE. (This is an upgrade??)

Nice. Saw a Bronco in that color. Absolutely gorgeous. But if I had waited until the '25 Rangers were available in that color, I would have had to insist on chrome package.
And after seeing this video on how the eCVT works, I might have bought a Maverick instead.

The Toyota design is the most elegant piece of engineering that I have seen. Seems Ford took note.

I looked into it when I was test driving a Camry. Very well executed. If the car had been a tad easier to get into and out of I would have bought it. I'm thinking longer term at age 70. The older you get the harder it is to climb down into a lower designed auto.

But I have no doubt that the car would have lasted longer than me. It is that well executed.

The Toyota design is quieter than the Ford design, at least in the first year Maverick. My daughter drives one and loves it. But at first start up, it clunks and clicks (loudly) before settling down. The Camry is dead quiet, eerily so. Very Impressive.

Can't believe there is a member pushing Toyota quality on a Ford site! Too be honest I have a beef against Toyota and won't even look at one or help a Toyota owner. If they bought a Toyota they can suffer!

I shouldn't be surprised at that at all. Many of us have an appreciation for good quality engineering-when and where it exists. And equally many of us don't find it in Toyota trucks but do recognize it in other of their models.

The Camry I rented for a month last summer was one of the nicest riding vehicles I've driven in a while. I would buy this hands down before any Ford product because they've perfected the hybrid over the last 20+ years. I'm not a fan boy or loyalist to anyone anymore because they've ALL proven they're not loyal to their customers!

Now if we're talking about the Tacoma then...:puke: I'd rather walk then drive another one of those pieces of 💩

Edit: Now I do love my Ranger and have had good luck with both of mine and would consider a R Raptor.

I'm not pushing anything.

I have 2 Rangers in my garage. And FWIW, the 2005 is the far more reliable truck. The 5G has been troublesome.

The only Toyota that I have ever owned was an abused 1986 4 cyl Camry clunker with over 200K miles. I needed a cheap clunker and it ran untouched for 3 years. It was slow...so very slow, but it was cheap reliable transportation, and the AC would freeze you out of the car.

I got back my $3K when I traded to the dealer when I purchased a 2003 Maxima new off the lot. I suspect that it is still on the road somewhere.

I did a hard pass on the Tacoma.
