I'd like to install a front and rear dash cam in my 2020 XLT.

I assume the easiest and cleanest way to run cable to the rear camera would be to run it above the headliner. Does anyone have any tips for how to do so? Is it necessary to remove the whole headliner, or can you use something like an electrician's fish-tape to feed the wire through?

I've never removed a headliner, so I'm not sure how involved the process is.

I ran mine along the windshield to the drivers side, then down to the floor and then to the rear. Then up the back drivers side corner. A good place to stash the extra length of cable if any. I attached my cable to the factory harness that runs along under the drivers sill plate.

Plastic parts pop off easy, maybe a bolt here or there. If you already have done the Ford Trailer Brake install to get to the 3rd-Brake light it is just about the same. Just tuck the cable in along the way to avoid the headliner as much as possible.

Not real difficult. 3 out of 10.

I tucked my dashcam and radar cables between glass and up above the headliner...run it all the way across under headliner to behind A-pillar...down to IP and towards fuse box...same process can be done to run my rear camera all the way to the rear and down/through cabin vent behind seat...out to the back of the truck...

I just peeled the rubber lip at the top and tucked the leads right inside. Just popped open the pillar between the doors wide enough to push in the lead with a plastic tool. Took about 15 min to run them. Same with the headliner .

It’s actually quite easy. Up the A-pillar and then over to the driver door side. Pull down the rubber seal and slide it up under edge of the headliner. Do the same on rear driver side door. Then back to the rear window. Took about 20 minutes!

You can just pull the weatherstriping around the doors, and I fished the wires that way. When done, just push the weatherstriping back in place. easy peasy.
