Well my Factory Five Speedstar is built and ready for paint. I have the local Hot Rod & Custom shop coming over on the 2nd to give me an estimate. It will either be a bright red pearl or orange pearl. I keep going back and forth on color.

It's not registered yet but I have been putting some miles on it on the back roads near home. This thing is scary fast. I am glad I only did a stock rebuild on the Hemi instead of the 500+ HP build I originally planned. Even with the 305 tires on the back there is not much traction, it will break the tires lose in the first three gears at will.

OMG that thing is bad ass!!! so is your shop! Red Pearl would be awesome as I am always drawn to red but Orange Pearl seems right.
Just my 2c

My vote is orange. Do you have samples (even internet picture samples) of the two?

This has turned out awesome! Love the build!
If you go to thecoatingstore.com the truck on the home page is one of the oranges I am considering. If you search by color (red and orange) you will see colors I am considering, anything that is bright is a potential. Also, you can see similar colors on the houseofkolar.com page, the truck on their home page is great too. What I ultimately choose is going to be a function of what the painter i pick is comfortable working with. There are even a number of OEM colors that I would be happy with.

Seeing that this is a fair weather vehicle only driven on paved roads it's not an issue. I drive behind fenderless hot rods quite often and have never had an issue with my Barracuda being hit by flying debris.

It's obvious you don't go to car shows or cruise nights or you would know that fenderless hot rods are every where and if flying debris was an issue the folks going to these events with their $30k paint jobs would be all over them.
I thought No Fenders was illegal for a street vehicle in many states?

Orange. It took me 1 second of seeing that color to know it was the right one. I mean, its not my car or my money, but that color is sexy.

It probably is in some states but it is not in Massachusetts, windshield wipers are not either. From an inspection standpoint if it has them they have to work but they are not required.

With all the talk about what is legally driven on the road. These vehicles are all legally registered, insured and have passed the states safety inspection. They are a small sample of the crazy vehicles that show up to the Sunday morning cars n coffee cruise in.

The BMW Gasser has been around for years and is driven all over the Northeast. The Firebird Pro-Mod is a retired race car that is also driven all over New England. When the owner decided he couldn't afford to race any longer he add lights, DOT tires, mufflers and now drives it every where.

Well the Speedstar was finally painted today. The color is called Sunset Orange Pearl. Took a lot more work to get the body lines perfect and Lazer straight. Now it's time to reassemble and get it on the road.

I have about 30 different orange and red paint chips on my night stand that I would look at most every night trying to decide. I like this one, no I like this one, no this one then look on line and order some more chips

My wife was ready to divorce me if I didn't pick a color. 😏

Nice color. I was considering painting my street glide an Sedona Orange was one color an a translucent orange. I was tempted to go with house of kolor candy apple root beer. I moved on from that phase after pricing everything lol.

Well it is getting back together. The lights (head and tail) and the windshield, back window and side windows need to be installed. Then I need to finish out the interior; sound insulation, carpet and door panels.
