Been awhile since my last update on my Speedstar and I have been making progress.

Today I took it out for its first drive. A couple of more things to finish up with the wiring and I will concentrate on body work.

Well my Factory Five Speedstar is built and ready for paint. I have the local Hot Rod & Custom shop coming over on the 2nd to give me an estimate. It will either be a bright red pearl or orange pearl. I keep going back and forth on color.

It's not registered yet but I have been putting some miles on it on the back roads near home. This thing is scary fast. I am glad I only did a stock rebuild on the Hemi instead of the 500+ HP build I originally planned. Even with the 305 tires on the back there is not much traction, it will break the tires lose in the first three gears at will.

That is awesome. It's too bad you can't reg it without lights. It looks mean as hell without them. Like a cross between a coffin and a xenomorph.

It has lights. I had to remove them to fit the side panels. I have not reinstalled them. I have to take the body off the chassis for paint and won't put them back on until final assembly.

Do fenders eventually get installed?
No fenders. FFR has bicycle fenders that fit that I could add in the future. The original Alloway Speedstar was genderless and I like the look.

I mean not to be that guy, but screw everyone else riding behind you?
Seeing that this is a fair weather vehicle only driven on paved roads it's not an issue. I drive behind fenderless hot rods quite often and have never had an issue with my Barracuda being hit by flying debris.

It's obvious you don't go to car shows or cruise nights or you would know that fenderless hot rods are every where and if flying debris was an issue the folks going to these events with their $30k paint jobs would be all over them.

Well I can't say I agree with that line of thinking, but I was just curious. Carry on.
