Whats difference between flood/zeiglar which is more reliable….
Best to check/compare prices.
Your not buying the "dealers reliability", your just buying the Ford Extended Warranty which stands on it's own. Dealers are just the "salesman".
The warranty sales rep at Flood Ford is Gardiner Reynolds, 1-888-318-8534

Naw, I'm in GA.

It figures that everything is more expensive here, except when compared to CA. ?
Also the choice of deductible matters. What did you choose?

I added Geico mechanical breakdown to my insurance for like $4 a month. They supposedly cover anything an extended warranty would cover with a $250 deductible. Anyone have experience with this plan?

So the factory warranty covers powertrain to 5 years or 60k miles. Getting an extended warranty seems like would only extend that a few years and based on coverage, apply to more of the electronics/non powertrain stuff. That's where I get hung up, is it worth it to get a few years/miles more for powertrain and with some extra cost, electronic stuff.

I think we both chose the $200 deductible.

I believe the biggest difference in price is because his is 2WD whereas mine is 4x4.

I'm more worried about the big display screen or the hvac system or a/c compressor going out than the engine an transmission. I'm tempted to get the 6 year 75K plan for like 700 with a 200 deductible or 800 with 100 deductible. The lower deductible seems reasonable since the difference is paid for with one use.

I run a Livernois tune an have for 17K so I might be in for a fight on a powertrain problem with the warranty anyway.

I'm not known for keeping vehicles a long time but I like the truck an with ICE powered vehicles an endangered species I might decide to hang on to it.

curious, why do you never use "and"? You know, with a "d"? Seen this countless times. No offense. But it distracts from the content.

Never thought about it. At my age that one extra keystroke might add up. Who knows how many I have left!

Just purchased the premium care for 6yrs/75k for $685 from Flood. I only have 18k on the clock and compared to what the Ford website quoted me, I feel like I got a decent deal.
I'm leaning towards them as well. Have had any issues with them?

Try Flood or Zeigler….
This was at lombard, unfortunately flood is not an option for Floridians and we pay alot of more because of state law regarding warranty prices
This is what I'm looking at for zeigler

I bought the premium care from zeigler in august. It was 50.00 cheaper than flood using the code "PAYINFULL" for 250.00 off. It showed up on my fordpass the next day. I would not hesitate using flood or zeigler.

One the Zeigler site it gives you the option to add int/ext lighting for $35.00. I didn't see this on Floods site.

https://www.zeiglerfordesp.com/process/quote.aspx?type=primary

Interior/Exterior Lighting:
Interior/Exterior Lighting : + $35

This option is available on all NEW, USED and CPO FORD|LINCOLN PROTECT PremiumCare ESP PLANS coverages. If you elected to purchase Interior/Exterior Lighting with PremiumCare ESP coverage, you will have coverage for electrical failures on incandescent bulbs, halogen bulbs, high intensity discharge (HID) and LED lamp assemblies. Your chosen deductible of $0, $50, $100 or $200 applies on lighting services the same as for other covered service warranty repairs.

Steve, do you know if you sell before the warranty is up do they pro rate it and give you the difference back? I thought I read that somewhere before they did. I'm looking at the 6 yr/60K for $695. I doubt I'd keep it that long but who knows with these crazy prices now. Plus that would be right when the 6th Gen is going into it's second year which I'd take a look at.
It is fully transferable to another owner for $75 I think. So could be a good selling point.

Yes it is and that's a good point about it being a good selling point. I read into it farther and found it in the FAQ section.

https://www.floodfordesp.com/faq.php#q4

Is an ESP contract transferable if I sell my vehicle?
Yes
. For a $75 transfer fee you can transfer your contract to another person (private party) to give them the added confidence of Ford Protect. Coverage is transferable from private party to private party, through the life of the contract. The fee may vary by state.
