The other part of this that makes absolutely ZERO sense is that the whole POINT of the TSB is to address this exact issue - as it comes up!

This dealership is playing you HARD. The TSB is literally there to address water/condensation getting onto the plugs and from what I know, Ford doesnt perform any TSB unless the problem is present. I.e. if you didnt have water on the plugs when you took it in, they wouldnt give you an engine cover.

This is 100% on ford, and they've admitted it. Unless we're missing a big chunk of the story, this is exactly WHY the TSB exists. Go to another dealer. This is a ford issue.
This whole scenario is impossible to believe. However, if you doubt my sincerity, please call my service advisor Armondo (a good man in a tough spot) 408 782-8208 this is his direct work line
Give him my name: Walter Alvarez and mention TSB 21-2147. He can give you all the details

Help me out Walter - I’m not sure what I’m looking at or what warranty request was denied. ???

Well I got my cover in the mail today. Interesting little thing. It looks ok. I actually got used to the look of no cover. I don’t even consider the engine noisy anymore(I used to when I first got it) but wonder if I’ll notice any difference in sound. Can’t wait till November when we all scramble for the new cover. Should be fun times!

I feel bad how I was acting on the forum yesterday. I was pretty spun up from all the mumbo jumbo from Ford Warranty and the dealership. I should have waited, but I did get some good info. Even from the trolls; they're almost charming

OMG its starting again!
Why are all the know-it-alls coming out of the wordwork to say this isn't possible.
Just bc it doesn't make sense doesn't mean its not possible that a major Richard head service manager decided to interpret it that way.
Lets all save judgement until Walter gets it sorted out as I believe he will.
Or call Armando! ?
This next part is a joke for those with sensitive constitutions!
UNLESS, Walter is a super troll/genius and has hired a friend "Armando" to act like a Ford service guy and fool us all - LOL
Walter not saying you aren't a genius!

Sorry guys last nights discussion still has me spun up!

You can't. It has become quite evident that any one having a problem with a ranger is a troll. We have both been told so in various threads. This website is for fanboys only! Everytime someone had a legitimate complaint they are called trolls on here!
This is not unique to this forum. I've been on car forums since they became a thing, and they've always been this way. Some worse than others. This one is skewed a little towards the "fanboy" side, but far from the worst. A lot has to do with how the OP presents their issue and how quickly they respond to inquiries.

Nice rig. I have same year tremor and same color. What did you need to make the headrests work? Was it just buy and insert or is there more work needed. Sorry to hijack thread.

Here's an excerpt from my post on my mods.......the latest thing I have done was order the folding headrests for the rear seat. The existing headrests DO NOT fold and they block most of the rear window. I ordered just the actual headrest and it comes WITHOUT the cover and costs around $100 each depending on where you buy them.

(Right) Headrest, Outer - Ford (FU5Z-78611A08-AC)
(Left) Headrest, Outer - Ford (FU5Z-78611A09-AC)

I re-used the existing headrest covers which fit VERY tight and DO NOT have the cut out for the side "push button" that you use to fold the headrest down. I actually like not having the exposed button as it looks "cleaner" with the button hidden. It still functions exactly as designed without the button cut out of the cover! and the replacements covers cost around $125 each and there's no need to buy them as my existing headrest covers fit and match my interior. THESE ARE A GAME CHANGER for me as I can see so much better out the rear window.

Have been able to speak with anyone at Ford Customer Care yet? A few people mentioned it in your thread but it’s unclear if you took that step yet.

I did call "Armando" , he seemed nice , but then told me to sit at my computer because it had "Viruses and Malware " and he would help me clear it , seemed strange coming from a Ford service advisor ... why "Armondo" got a thick indian accent ?
