I was going to buy the cover and tried to add the the necessary hardware. Funny that it said the stud won't fit my Ranger but suggest seat covers instead!

I'm not patient when it comes to online ordering so I think I'll pass for now. In a couple of years I'll just have to pay quadruple the price for the one Dr. Zaius is putting into a vault!

Just use 2019 Lariat as the vehicle and it will be all good.

You know, you might want to delete the quoted post. You are going to start getting solicitations to come to work as a parts counter guy... ;)

Like @Trigganometry pointed out, the addition of this cover is part of an official Ford TSB for water getting into spark plug wells, freezing and cracking the ceramic on the plug. How can Ford discontinue the part with that TSB in place? Odd.
In the future, people won't say "the rich get richer..", they will say, "the rich spark plugs don't crack..." :)

I think installing this on a non-Lariat is a good idea.

May be a good way to tell if you have an experienced mechanic. When he opens the hood, if he says, "wait what?" and then goes around to the side to see if it says Lariat... :)

I ordered one.

Guaranteed any mechanic that pops a hood on a non Lariat and sees a cover they will immediately go to the rear and check for a damper. Then they know that this is a customer that knows what they’re doing!

I actually was a parts counter guy when I was a teenager working summer jobs. I've since spent 42 years in IT and I'm about to retire. I could see myself working in (or owning?) a parts store!

A buddy of mine flew for Flying Tigers back in the day.

He had a lot of very colorful stories to share. ;)

I've had the truck 3 years and never realized it was foam, looks like typical plastic engine covers, I'm surprised someone hasn't already made a plastic mold for one.

Naw Man, since you're a 5G member here, I'll cut you a special deal.

Fully dependent on what the going market rate is in a couple of years :like:

Some poor schmuck just bought every cover online available and is planning his retirement on some private island.

Then disaster strikes when some guy in South Korea starts getting them punched out for $8/pc... :headbang:

I haven't read all 56 previous posts, but could whoever the supplier(s) is/are keep making them? Just like how everybody and their cousin make "F O R D" Raptor grilles for everything from an EcoSport to a Transit Connect.

Glad I got one last year.

Might start an epidemic of hooligans crowbarring Ranger hoods to see if there is an engine cover to steal- easier to get at than the catalytic converter

The Chinese manufacturing lines are probably gearing up now.

Though the foam in a cover from China will likely contain anti-freeze, liquid mercury, and spent nuclear reactor fuel rods.

Hey! It would be good for killing any mice that try to nest under there!
