Get a trap and use Ritz crackers and peanut butter. They will love it and be trapped. I have caught 50+ of the varmint's in the past 3 years and it works like a charm. I used to relocate them but that got to be a PITA so now they commit suicide these days. Squirrels can have 2 litters of up to 6 babies per year. No wonder they seem like they breed like rabbits and are everywhere.

Make sure to paint the replacement with high leaded paint mixed with asbestos...kidding...mix hot pepper sauce with water and spray on all over...let dry then mount...
But what if the rodents like spicy food??

On a chilly day there's few pleasures that can match laying atop a warm engine. That's what a squirrel believes...or so I've heard. Lacking tools, or the ability to properly use same, an engine cover could be an insurmountable obstacle on the path to squirrel bliss. Fortunately, armed with formidable incisors, the plucky squirrel prevails.

I'm guessing the squirrel knew about all the deleted items and was just trying to "evolve" your Ranger. lol. But seriously, better the engine cover than the wiring harness! Maybe a good distraction?!?

I am convinced that squirrels are just assholes. they nearly make me wreck when I am mountain biking, they get into the walls of your house and chew on absolutely everything.

Imagine what it might have done had there not been an engine cover..
Yikes either way.

I enjoyed hunting squirrels as a kid. I would skin them and give them to my grandmother, who liked to eat them. Honestly, by the time I got through skinning them , I didn’t want to eat them! :puke:

Probably best, as with most animals, any strangers in the area will be quickly dealt with, so it's not doing them any favor to relocate them.

Squirrels are a PITA to skin. Rabbits, not so much.

Not to mention the way they get out on the road and dart back and forth and can't decide which way to go. Makes it impossible to try to avoid them. So I don't. I just keep driving straight and whatever happens, happens.

It takes me like 2 minutes. I cut under the tailbone, step on the tail, grab the feet and pull the skin right off. Remove head and paws, crack ribs, remove organs, cut into 4 peices and that's it. He is grilled 20 minutes after he fell out of the tree.

That is what I try to remember, gut reaction on a bike is to avoid hitting them. Next time they wont be so lucky.
