I want to purchase some upgrades to the truck before 12/31 end of year.

I'm ordering the Power Pack Performance Calibration from Levittown - but want to also get wheels, tires and possible a leveling kit (or new sus?)

I've been lurking for a week trying to make sense of how to order all three but i'm completely overwhelmed with options. There are $200 basic leveling kits and there are full suspension kits - then wheel choices that will accommodate more truck looking tires, but without having to make cuts to fenders or remove bits and pieces.

Is there a basic build kit for those who aren't looking to do full articulation off-roading - but want a commuter, with option to drive up to snow and hopefully do some basic trails. I live in SoCal so the Big Bear season is upon us. Last year we went for the day and drove home in a blizzard like conditions and the stock Bridgestone Dueler M+S tires with 4x4 did the job, but like to get a step up that can also manage mud and freeway driving :)

I really want to at least purchase everything by end of day 12/31, i'll worry about finding a place to install in 2022.

If anyone has a go-to package of things I can source I'd really appreciate it.

I have the fox 2.0 and bds upper control arms with icon rear leafs and love the way my truck looks and rides both on and off-road. I think you would be more than happy with the kit even without the uca’s and rear springs if you are mainly commuting and hitting an occasional trail. I run 275/65-18’s and feel it’s a perfect fit for both on and off road abilities.

Thanks, I looked at this, but the option that included the rear as well, is that not necessary? And this is where i got lost with the recommendations
You will want to upgrade the rear shocks as well

The fox 2.0 set up from ford comes with coil overs for the front and shocks for the rear. No springs but it is a great improvement over the factory parts.

You don’t need much for “basic off-road” performance, even if it’s just forestry or fire roads. Fox or Eibach suspension all the way around with 2” of front level or less, paired with 265s (Grabber, Falken, Nitto, KO2, lots of aggressive-looking tires to choose from) on your factory wheels and you’ll be as capable as the next person out there.

And you’ll be at a wheel size that doesn’t mess with your speedometer too much. Your tune might even have the option to re-calibrate your speedometer for the new tire size.

@AzScorpion has a 2-1/2” level, stock everything else and some 265s. Check out his pics and you’ll see how off-road worthy a “basic” setup can be.

So it sounds like Fox 2.0 all around. Any one voting for Eibach?

I was expecting to have to get new rims, which I wouldn’t mind, but can I get away with larger tires on the stock?

I’ve got the money for rims if it’s worth it, or could use towards something else.

Fox 2.0 uses eibach springs in the front for the coil overs. Fox dampers and shocks.
Wheels are personal preference and in my eyes don’t benefit use of the truck. That’s why I left my factory wheels and bought spacers although I will probably eventually get 17” wheels for a little more tire while off road. But again, not a huge deal to me.
You will be able to run the tire size I mentioned earlier with the fox 2.0 kit and spacers or whatever size is equivalent if you don’t have 18” wheels. I suggest faction fab spacers from stage 3. I run 1.5”.
Then with the left over cash I’m not sure. I was gonna say get a tune but see you already have that in the works. I have led headlights and fogs I very much appreciate over the factory lights. Maybe exhaust to compliment the tune? Or if you want wheels go for those. It is about making the truck how you want it and having fun while doing it.

Yep, you won’t need new rims - 265s are a bit wider than stock - just keep your overall diameter around 31.6” - this can be done with 265/70R17 if you have 17” wheels now - 265/65R18 if you have 18”.

You can always get new rims but then you have to worry about the offset and crash bars. You’d have to keep your offset high - as close to the +55mm offset of your OEM wheels as possible. If you go lower than +35mm offset, you’re in the danger zone for rubbing - no longer a “basic” setup.

The money you “save” could go toward a tonneau cover.

ok so going to take your and Chattownranger suggestion and keep existing rims and look for 265/70/17 tires. That will hopefully fill the well a bit more.

I have a softopper so no need for tonneu but a new exhaust note might be nice… :)

Oh man! If you’re doing exhaust I love my SPD set up! I will say it’s a little loud since I have the over the axle dump and no resonator but my friend has their exhaust on his eco boost f150 and it sounds great and isn’t as loud running all the way to the rear of the truck. Great quality and perfect fit. And I’ve installed lots of exhaust.
