Stumbled on this, after stumbling on a timeline of Ford Rangers, after reading an article about how much our trucks have grown over the years.
The first Ranger XLT was in...1970. Sorta. Our trucks started out as a trim level of the 1970 F-100. It was the Lariat of its day.
I should've known this, my wife's grandfather had one as late as 1992-93 & I drove it to the dump for him at least once.
