I, too, hit it when I rest the heel of my palm on the bezel while using the touch screen.

I wish they had put it up on top of the wheel, old school.

I kinda like it. I use mine more than most probably. We have a lot of amish in the area, and I find myself stuck in horse traffic often. I put em on to hopefully avoid getting rear ended when coming up on a buggy in my lane. I can get to them quite easily in their current location. I hated them when they were the button on top of the steering column. Put your hand through the wheel or around it to activate it? No thanks. Confession though: I do not have a touch screen dash, I can see how that would be inconvenient at times.

Fuel on the fire, the flashers should be used more than one might think. I use mine when approaching a stopped school bus to let them know I see them and alert anyone coming behind me of a stoppage in traffic. Construction zones, approaching a flagger, same reasons as a school bus. Sometimes I use them in a school speed zone when the person behind me is not aware of the 20 mph limit, you can tell they aren't aware because they are basically kissing your rear bumper. Any stoppage of traffic such as a slow down on the Interstate or highway. Pulling over to let a funeral pass, lights and flashers on. Again, full disclosure, retired FedEx where one of my many duties was teaching and evaluating safe driving. One of the keys to safe driving is make sure they see you.

I've inadvertently activated it maybe 5 times in 15k miles. It's not perfect but hardly a real problem.

Agreed. There are way too many distracted drivers on the road. I figure the more I use mine, hopefully, I won't get hit.
