Fuse/ relay panel location

Hello, I'll be adding lighting to my Ranger in the future and think the best way to prepare for that is to add a fuse panel. Is there a favored location? I would prefer to mount it somewhere under the hood, perhaps on the firewall so any experiences or suggestions are appreciated.

I mounted mine in front of the battery. I trimmed the plastic shroud to allow access to the relay box cover.
