I've got the factory tie downs but I've unused threaded holes in my box, I'm considering a couple of these. Cast iron........

I'd rather buy the factory tie downs. They're not terribly expensive and you know they're rated for the truck.
Yeah for sure. If I ever have anything I really need the extra tie downs for I’ll probably buy some but for now just an extra spot for bungee cords rather than anything heavy duty

I got a ratcheting cargo bar that you can put anywhere across the bed. Mine is just in far enough that I can use bungees to hold my tub of running/biking gear within reach. I can also throw stuff in there like propane tanks or gas cans and secure them to the cargo bar.

Are the holes already threaded? Were they caked with bedliner?
Yes. I used the same D Rings. You'd have to clean out the bolt holes since they were sprayed over, if the tiedown wasn't there already.

As someone else said, I wouldn't use them to tie down a fridge or anything big. Frankly, I don't use them much since most of the time all I need is the corners. I was mounting the hinged toolbox, so I added the D ring to the same bolt.

My Lariat was delivered with only the middle two missing. It turns out I had some leftover chain that fit the 4 mm bolts so I end up using that.

Hello guys,
I don’t know if you guys have already figured out a solution to the missing tie down points (seems like they started shipping out with 4 a while ago which was already covered in a thread) but I just jerryrigged some bogus ones for the cheap since Ford charges an arm and a leg:

1. 4x - M8 1.25 screws, 25MM length ($4)
2. 4x - M8 Washers ($2)
3. 4x - Tie down V rings, 4 pack ($10) (Found on Amazon from LE KAPMOZ vendor)

Very easy to just throw in with a socket wrench.

I certainly wouldn’t trust these to hold down anything heavy duty but definitely helpful for added stability with a cam strap, or something lightweight.

I thought this was super easy, took 20 mins or less for less than $20. Hope this helps someone else out there with the same problem.

I like the idea, while on Amazon I found these that look a little more sturdy:

If need be you can install some nutserts to mount those in several places to give more options.

Bought mine forever ago. Worth the $ IMHO. And I do use them fairly regularly. As was mentioned earlier though, would be nice to have a couple in the floor.

That is one advantage I have in my frontier. Well technically it's an advantage I used to have now that I have the deck drawer system. One thing I like that Nissan added on the Pro 4X and a few other sub models for the Frontier and the Titan was the utilitrac system. Giving you rails on the floor, bed sides and the front of the bed allowing you to move tie-down points wherever you need them depending on what you're needing to do. Thanks to my drawer system I can't use the ones on the floor anymore

Yep! I think Nissan has the best securement system of all trucks. My ‘06 NISMO, while the truck was a complete POS (but I loved it anyway!), the cargo system rocked. Surprised Ford doesn’t just copy it.

Because this is forward we're talking about. It's clearly way too hard to do with that way so we must do it a different way to prove that we can do it a better way
