Driving back from morning errands (in town) and running at speed limit or +1 or 2 which is 30 generally...long morning story lol!!

Some distance back, a 2004 or so chevy or gmc pickup weaving in and out of traffic probably doing 45 +, real dark windows all around so you can't see driver...work truck fencing company name on side...idiot lol!!

Anyway, I am kinda just watching him but in my lane doing the drive, pulls right up on my tail hoping the air pressure from his grill will make me go faster to get around the slower car on the right. Soon as there is almost enough room, cuts the other guy off and gets behind a car that just turned on...leave him behind.

Red light, he's stiil behind the car that pulled out and blocked into that lane now. This goes on for several blocks with him/her trying to get around traffic and catching no breaks - garbage truck pulls out from next block and stops in his lane etc., I expected gunfire to break out, isn't that what happens now??

Long short of all this is, at red light again and see the next block is going red as this one turns green. Get there and here comes crazy believe he thinks he'll blow the light at the right timing...wrong. So he's braking to stop and light changes. I hear him stomp the pedal and Livernois lives up to super-tune cause I just sort of stepped in it and scratched going into second. This street ends and you either go left or right on the light.

He never got passed mid door before he slowed down and cut in behind me, but I was coasting down to limit and he's about 3" behind. I am going to turn left and then immediate right into grocery parking as soon as left turn is completed. Signal left, slowing down and signaling right. Rearview looked like his truck was back end part of my truck ...

He blows up the street and I park, get out and am walking to door, he had rounded corner and came into parking lot on other side of block, looking for the truck/me?? watched him pull around behind truck, stop. Since you can't see inside, don't know what he's doing, but I was inside store watching. He drove off after 10 seconds or so.

My funny brain says he couldn't believe that the Ranger smoked him and I think him seeing the Cobra on the tailgate in the parking lot must have just dropped his jaw. My other brain says this was a puck and he was going to punk stuff, but he left...wonder what the game is

Took my Ranger to the beach and bay. Still here, no problems so far. :turkey: Umm, once again, please disregard the imperfect parking.

I grew up 45 minutes from Galveston so we spent mucho days on the beach....I'm sad that I haven't had "sand between my toes" since we left North Padre Island and headed to Lubbock. That was August 2011  (When I went back to school in 2010, I started out in a marine biology program at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi then transferred to Texas Tech).
Staring out into the Gulf of Mexico at night, with the wind blowing is so therapeutic for the soul...;)

I absolutely agree. The beach is so soothing. One of many things that covid has put a stop to for us.

:)
I get my first covid vaccine shot later today. Wife is a little younger than I am, she is in the next group, so hopefully soon. Can't wait for things to get back to something near normal. Whatever that may be. One thing for sure, it will include more time with the grand kids and some trips to the beach. Just to be sure, I renewed my passport yesterday . A trip to the Caribbean when it is cold and grey here sounds pretty good too. maybe next winter.

The picture is Panama City beach Florida. One of our favorites.?

My wife is a dental assistant and will get her 2nd shot around 2/21. I won't see a vaccine until summer at earliest. We thought city essential workers might get moved up the list but that's not gonna happen. I'm 57 and healthy....back of the line for me....lol ;)

I have seen people in long lines for the shots around the country. Credit goes to Norton Health care in Louisville. My appt. was for 3:30. I got there at 3:15. They had 3 or 4 stations to get you processed in and 8 stations giving the shots. Shot was in my arm by 3:30. Didn't even feel it. So far no side effects. :) ?

BTW I also drove the Ranger there in sleet and cold rain .... No problems as usual.

Wow, up here it seems to be SNAFU with the vaccine, I don't think I'll get a shot before Oct/Nov.
Drove grandson for weekend visit to his dad.
Truck is at 1,500km, no issues.
So I'm going to talk about MPGs again.....
I noticed when on the highway I can lift a little & the millage gets better, from 13l to 11l/100km(18 to 23 mpg) & keep same speed. I decided to try the cruise control.
As someone has mentioned to me on a thread, CC it's really good.
I went from 11/13 to about 9l/100km, so 23/26mpg, this was about 10 mins on the highway checking real time on dash. (I know about adjusting, might do it this summer).
With my sports car I can drive with/without CC & keep the same mpg.
This vehicle is a little different. Anyone else noticed?

Yes! I get a little better gas mileage when I use cruise control. :)
