The one I linked goes between $65K-$90K but they're built like a tank and will probably outlive all of us. lol

I'll admit I haven't been in a newer Jeep in a while but the Bronco is very impressive. I think it's one downfall is its width, it's pretty darn wide. But on road (the one I drove in July) it handles like a dream, something I've heard is a downfall with most Jeeps.
My quick search showed that Bruder offroad teardrop at over$40k!

I've found that camper prices are funny. Take a $10k teardrop, throw a more capable suspension on it and a lock and roll hitch, Boom! $35k! Makes no sense.

Just had to give you some shit. I love my old YJ. It's a proper old P.O.S. but she goes everytime and everywhere I want to.

Without a doubt the Bronco's road manners are better. And, despite it's IFS the tech will make it almost, if not completely, as capable as an equivalent Jeep.

Which is why I was interested.

Just had to give you shit is all.

One advantage offroad my Jeep, in particular, has over my imaginary Bronco purchase is it's age and value. There are many places I have and would take my YJ that any $45k rig of mine would never see.

Dang you lucky dog you. How did you find out they were close by Dave? I'm hoping they will come my way one day, as like you I need a little shot of patience.

BTW, you know I was on the fence concerning engines, and finally landed on the 2.7L just because that's what I wanted. It's good to hear that was the right decision. We'll keep our fingers crossed both of ours will show before the snows set in around Granger. And hopefully at the same time.

Ford sent me this email below back on August 31 about the event. I'm not sure if they're doing it nationwide but hopefully they'll come close to you. It was just over an hour from me and I'm glad I went. We got there early so I was able to reserve the Wildtrak 2 dr, the only other 2 dr they had was an Outerbanks. The course through the desert was about 30 minutes long and there was an area to test out the trail turn assist which is super cool. The v6 is 100% worth the upgrade!

They're having a special event here in AZ (It was on the Fort McDowell Indian reservation) for reservation holders where you get to drive the Bronco and ask the reps questions. The off road course was nothing challenging but it did have a few good steep inclines and declines with some sandy wash areas. The Sasquatch package with the Bilstein shocks are super smooth and the 12" touch screen is a must have! The forward facing camera is great going up steep inclines where you can't see over the ridge. Getting back into my Ranger the screen looks like a hand held video game. lol

I got there early and requested to drive a 2dr since that's what I have ordered and was able to drive a fully loaded Wildtrak with the 2.7 V6 twin turbo. It did get me excited again for mine but now it probably cost me another $1,900 because there's a huge noticeable different with that motor. As long as I get mine before next October I'm going to hang in there because these are a great off road vehicle and so much better than a Jeep.

There was a rep that came along with us so I couldn't take any pictures while driving off road.

Wildtrak I got to drive:

You went for the works. lol I was going to go lux but I had to stop somewhere. Every time I turned around I was adding something else and it was always around $2,000. I am going to change mine to the v6 when the order banks open and never look at it again, I can't afford too. :piggybank:

Thanks my friend. Hopefully I'll get an email like that soon. The Charlotte Motor Speedway is about 10 minutes from the house, and there has been a lot of off roading events, tractor pulls, dirt bike racing, etc. there in the past. Just a little wishing thinking going on. :)

Remember brother, as I've said before, I've never seen an armored car following a hearse. We certainly don't want to be sitting on the porch in our latter years thinking "I wish".

Ford got me with the wireless charging pad and garage openers :)

I'll be happy to get the B&O sound and extra charging ports on top of the dash also though.

I'm hoping that someone comes up with a mod for those dash ports. Those really should come standard with all models seeing they have the accessory rail. I have the B&O stereo now and it's good but couldn't justify spending more for the lux when I'm way over where I started. lol

One a side note some of the reps I talked to seemed to think production should ramp up fast now that the hardtop issues have been fixed. Of course I'd take that with a grain of salt but hopefully we all get ours next year.
