Indeed. I'm happy enough with the 2.3, but would have taken a 6 or 8 had they squeezed either in there. There is no replacement for displacementThere's really no comparison though it there.Those of us who grew up listening to that V8 growl still love and miss it. I wouldn't pay $80K+ for it but I do miss it.
The only thing that sounds better than a big 8, is a big diesel 8 under heavy load.

But...this was of no surprise. With mileage restrictions and Government mandates on the auto industry, I doubt we see many V-8's moving forward. The turbo boosted 4 and 6's put out a lot of hp and torque anyways.
