2020 Ranger coming close to end of factory warranty. Over the last few months, I've had different problems with the display functioning. Would not illuminate at all, would illuminate but very faded and buttons would not work, would illuminate perfectly but buttons not work. It would always return to normal operation eventually, maybe when restarting. How to deal with dealer on such intermittent issues? Something that can actually be diagnosed? Seems unlikely dealer would replace. I live in Tucson so I doubt it's cold related. Thanks

I would call your dealer and explain what is going on and see if they would be willing to look at it when you can bring it when the problem is occurring. If you just leave it and they cannot get it to fail, then you will never get anywhere with them. In the meantime, if it were mine, I would either remove any fuses associated with the sync hardware or just disconnect the battery for a short time to let all the hardware reset. Another thing to consider would be to make sure you are on the latest version as well as possibly do a master reset.

If you do disconect the battery you will need to reset the driver window. Also check the manual to see what else you may need to check when removing/replacing the battery.

Disconnecting the battery usually helps with these electrical glitches. Also you could try doing a reset and see if that helps too.

Take it in while still under warranty to document because it’s going to sheet the bed a few hundred miles after warranty expires. Also, get a quote from Granger Ford on extended warranty if you plan to keep the vehicle

That's a good tip. Does that just reboot the system, or is it a master reset to factory settings?

Also, does it do anything bad or something I might not expect or need to pay attention? Thanks
