Do people put 2.5s on the front and 2.0s on the rear or is that a bad idea ? Was thinking 2.5 with res on front and 2.0 with res on rear as the 2.5 with res on rear is a huge jump in price looking for some feedback. Looking to get a kit for under 2000-2500 ish wanted kings but seem to be out of stock everywhere.

If anyone got a hookup to some king 2.5 non adjustable also let me know !

I would only do that if an aftermarket shock manufacturer offers that particular setup valved specifically for the Ranger. Otherwise, you most likely will be creating an imbalance and the front and back suspension will be working against each other.

You'll be very happy.

Kings are are just overkill and clout for 95% of us.

There's no reason why you couldn't. Even ICON's Stage 1 Kits come with 2.5 fronts and 2.0 rears. The rear shocks have to handle a lot less weight than the fronts, so if you're just looking for a general handling/trail setup, you'll be fine.

Granted, you won't be able to bomb down powerline roads at 60mph, but that's not everyone's goal or cup of tea.

you caved in less than 5 hours ?
Haha the entire internet says kings are backordered for months, just gave up, said F it. Hopefully I can get them before I drive from NC to AK with a trailer would be nice to get them in before so made a quick decision. Not much middle ground between 1k kits and 3k kits besides icon and the non adjustable kings but having stuff in stock usually helps the decision.

Same reason I went with icon over kings. Keep in mind the first few hundred miles the ride is rough but it settles and feels great.

I ordered the front 2.5 without the remote resevoirs by accident. Do you think it's worth all the trouble to send them back and get them with resevoirs? Not doing much high-speed stuff but some forest roads and back country stuff.

I'm sorry but I just can't say. I definitely need the CDCV because I have long travel, so I crank them sons of guns up given the extra leverage of the control arms. In fact, I really wish we had an option to adjust rebound as well as compression, and I need someone to release an upper mount for a secondary shock up front to help damping up front. Something like a stage 9 for a tundra. That would be perfect. So idk maybe you will be fine without the CDCV. I've learned that a lot of people are content with what they have and I always try to improve everything and customize everything I have, it's exhausting.

Bilstein 5100's were the biggest improvement I ever made to my truck. I sold them, but I'll never forget them. They're the real MVP's.

Guess I'll never know there is better if I don't try them haha I'll put the 2.5s and pretend they have remote res or just upgrade them down the road

I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t an additional plug on the shock for attachment of a reservoir.

In truth the reason for them is increasing the fluid volume to aid in cooling under severe conditions. Not knowing how you’re going to use them if not severe conditions you probably wouldn’t notice a difference as the fluid never gets hot enough to cause performance issues.
