Different brands/level of suspension?

Agree with the above comments regarding the 5100's. I'd recomond going this route also and it's pretty cost-effective with impressive improvement in ride quality. Really makes for a nice ride on the street.

The Fox's will ride smoother, but will ware out faster. The Bilstein 5100's are a good entry level up grade that reuses your factory springs. What I don't care for in the 5100's is you feel a lot of low speed road chatter. This is inherent of there valving.

Take a look at the Eibachs. They are similar in price to the Fox, but provide a great ride and you can adjust the height your self.

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. I have run all 3 of these on my truck doing testing for work.

I have the Eibach fronts from @Stage3Motorsports during their Black Friday sale. If my back feels better, I will get them on this weekend.

I had 4600's on my 2016 Frontier from the factory. They are simply the non adjustable version of the 5100's. Never had the issue of feeling road chatter. I actually had people comment on how comfortable it was

1. The 4600 and 5100 are valved differently.
2. The 4600 on your Frontier are different then an off the shelf 4600 for a frontier.

Auto Manufactures work with Bilstein, Fox, Rancho, etc. and build a shock with the Auto Manufactures specified specs. They are not the same version you buy as a replacement.

Vavling is not different between 4600 to 5100. The only difference between the two I height adjustments wich come on the 5100. Even an off the shelf 4600 for the Frontier is going to be the same as the one from the factory. Bilstein specifically does this for vehicles that have it as a Factory option. That said I wont argue that Bilstein makes a great shock and it depends on what individuals are doing to what they need for their application

Think what you want but I already verified this when I was working at Nissan Dealerships. The part number on the shocks were the same

It may be possible that Nissan uses a off the shelf shock, since these only come on the Pro4x from the factory. This is not traditional of Ford, Toyota and GM when doing mass production.

Pro4X and Dessert Runner to be exact. If not mistaken the other brand they used for current models is Sachs. Befor it was KYB but I'm sure corprate spending changed that.

Does anyone know if there is a compatible coil over spring to accompany the bilstein 5100 shocks? I have the 5100 already and am kicking myself for not going 6112 so that I don't have to pre-load my springs. I'm wondering if I could just take the same spring used on 6112 and add it to the 5100. TIA

You would have to ask Bilstien on that. Chances are they will say no, but younwont know until you ask.

What gives the smoothest ride on the road? I don't like the way the rear end bounces over bumps.
