Hi TF,Hi, what is the reason Ford went with a single leaf spring in the rear?
Thanks. My concern would be if I have weight in the back and going off-roading a bit. I know the Ranger does have the highest payload in its class however.Phil is right on this. Also the leaf is known as a parabolic leaf spring. It is a heavy duty leaf spring that can flex more than a multi leaf pack(stock at least) and work well.
If you are looking to do a lift on the truck there are companies that have replacement leaf springs that are multi leaf but give you more articulation in the rear.
If you havent already take it offroad before you make changes to the suspension. That is the best thing you can do just to see how capable it is.Thanks. My concern would be if I have weight in the back and going off-roading a bit. I know the Ranger does have the highest payload in its class however.
