So the AC plug iny back seat is excessively loose. Like everything falls right out.

Called the dealer and they said they are 1-2 weeks out. Ok no big deal. They say I can't get an appointment I have to leave it there. Ok not ideal but I can live with it, i get a loaner correct? Yeh no.... Cant get a loaner until it is physically in the garage.

What is this crap? I bought it at the dealer 10 months ago. Rodeo Ford in Goodyear AZ by the way. Excellent sales experience, never said that before so I mean it when I say the sales guy was awesome.

Suggestions?
Go in the showroom and ask to test drive any vehicle you see available. Don’t bring it back until your truck is finished.

Well I called sanderson Ford because my front pinion seal is leaking now too. I have an appointment Monday morning and they will go from there. At least it will get looked at immediately.

Fingers crossed! Most dealership appointments are to get you in front of a service advisor, not your truck in front of a mechanic. Unless, your dealership is caught up! Then hold onto that dealership!

I had my truck all of 5 days when the sway bar linkage snapped. Took it to dealer, it was a friday. Did not have part in stock. Told me I could leave it, or keep it and they would call when part came in. They actually made the call to RMT while i was there and got the order in. They told me the part would be sent overnight, and be in Monday since it was the weekend (guessing this lie was to appease me)...I laughed at that and told them I know how shipping works here, and that i reasonably expected to have my truck back the following thursday or friday. They agreed that was probably more realistic.

I asked for a loaner, and they said they had none. I pointed to a Nissan Pro 4x in the service lot that should be available (my trade-in), they said they had to check with mgr. They came with keys to another truck, one off their used car lot. Good enough.

Thursday and then Friday came with no word. I called them, they told me my truck was next in line, but would be Monday. Raised a little hell about that, reminded them that even though I didn't pay their full ridiculous markup, I did pay enough over MSRP that it should get some priority, but they said it was best they could do.

Got a call Saturday morning from them. They said the tech came in to tackle some small jobs, my truck was ready, and offered to deliver it to me as I was at work and couldn't get there.

Just playing devil's advocate here, but almost everybody is paying above MSRP, and what about people who have been diligently waiting in line before you? One thing that drove me crazy about being a service advisor was EVERY customer had a reason they were more special than the customer in front of them whose car was waiting to go on the lift.

I paid MSRP exactly last October. Was excited to keep using that dealer but apparently not.

Well now I am kicking myself for buying new. Every dealership in the valley is trash. Front pinion seal is leaking and its a few hour job at most. Quickest turn around time is 3 days across 8 dealerships.

Warranty is useless in my opinion. Im ordering a $10 seal and fixing it myself. As far as tge AC plug goes I will just order a new one online and go from there.

Next truck will be used, shockingly still Ford because I am used to them and the vehicles themselves have never let me down.

When I worked at the Ford dealership for one month, my boss said, "They did us a favor and circled the problem." He was pointing at the Ford Oval on the wall. ? I'm kinda glad I got my butt into a 2019 Ranger as I saw new vehicle quality fall off sharply with COVID. It's like that across the industry, it seems.

In my humble opinion, the warranty is pretty good if people can exercise a little patience. It's not the warranty's fault. It's not the dealership's fault. It's kinda Ford's fault that truck needs repaired. I can understand it's a frustrating situation. I'd be more inclined to still let the dealership get it fixed under warranty - thus creating that paper trial in case their are future issues. Plus it will save time and money!

That 3 day turnaround quote actually sounds PHENOMENAL. Well, that's just in comparison to what I've seen as far as dealership service center workloads. Keep in mind, it may only be a couple hour job at most, but how many customer vehicles are in front of yours? That's the kicker. Well, that and parts stocking. That pinion seal may not be on their shelf, and it might have to be ordered - thus contributing to a day holding onto your truck. Regardless, a 3 day turnaround on the job sounds good.

Good luck with the repairs!

You are probably right, but not having a vehicle for 3 days is unacceptable to me. First new vehicle and first warranty ever, I have never been without a vehicle for more than a weekend and that is with me turning the wrench.

Called fors customer service and they will reimburse me up to $45 a day for a rental car. Probably go that route. I guess I expect too much out of people, hence why I do everything myself. Going to step off my soap box and get back to my day!

Thanks everyone for their opinions.

Good on you for reaching out to Ford Customer Service! They tend to have a little more power to get shit done.

I get it man. EVERYTIME it comes to relying on someone else to do a good job, I feel I get screwed. Nobody is going to take care of your stuff better than you, in most cases anyways.
