De-badging

I went to my local autobody paint store NAPA CMAX and gave them my paint code, they mixed it up on the spot. I was also looking online at automotivetouchup.com and they seemed to be up to date with all our Ranger paint codes.

I decided to add these bad boys! Matte black ford emblem on front and back!! Got them on eBay!
Hopefully they stay on! Used some plastic JB weld and some 3m dual sided tape to help keep the elements from seeping into the cracks!

would you mind telling me how you removed the tailgate emblem, I replaced the one in front, but having issues wuth the tailgate.

I took the entire back side of the tailgate off, it’ll give you a clear look at the center of the emblem, you can slowly pry it off, but use a plastic clip tool, so that you don’t scratch up the paint or emblem. Go slowly while working your way around, continue to pry along the edges. You can start at the very bottom, there’s a small gap.

I take a trip to the local car wash (or if you have a pressure washer) and power wash the dealer sticker off. If that doesn't work, I have a rubber decal removal wheel available from almost any auto parts store. I like a nice, smooth appearance....even going to remove the EB badge as well, using fishing line, and the 4x4 decals. The decal removal wheel takes off the adhesive MUCH cleaner and easier that Oops, or Goof Off.

When I bought my 2001 Ranger Edge Plus, the dealer in Colorado Springs used little screws to put on the dealer badge. I took it back and had them remove it, fill the holes and paint it.

I have heard a grinder takes them off lickity split too!

Debadged the majority of them today, still need to do the ecoboost. Tinted the side markers, added new 4x4 decals. Have to redo the right side as one of the Fs slipped and there's a tiny tear in one of the mountains, but, that's why they give you 3.

Like it so much better than the stock ones already.

Hey Gus, I don’t think that’s the same... I purchased on EBay, I would try to get emblems that are for the 19 ranger or you might have to do some retrofitting and cutting!! Good luck

Finally got my Tuffskinz grille letters installed yesterday.

I got mine in today! I go for subtlety. Installing the rear vinyl emblems tomorrow. If I don't dig the final, I'll grab the gloss black ABS plastic ones.

Has anyone ever bought parts from Rockauto.com? I go through them to get inexpensive parts like wiper blades, various filters, etc. and saw that they offer OEM emblems as well. At around $30 for the front, it seems reasonable enough to buy and have a whack at disassembling and painting myself. I haven't found rear yet because I don't have part # but I'd imagine they have it for a reasonable price.

Removed the red FX4 stickers yesterday (no heat necessary, left the truck outside for 30 minutes, grabbed a corner and peeled right off)..
Replaced with these:

Is anyone having the dealer remove the "4x4, FX4, etc. badging in the rear of the vehicle?

I removed the FX4 decals with a low setting on my heat gun.... they came right off. I thought the decal kinda clashed with the Saber color, plus I prefer a clean look. (although there are some pretty cool monochrome decals some of you have put on in place of the stock decals!)
I also removed the EcoBoost emblem with some dental tape (heavy duty floss). Just carefully use the floss like a "saw" and gently pull outward while moving the floss back and forth under the emblem. (this method prevents the potential breakage/bending if you just try to pry it off the foam-adhesive backing.)

I have "re-badged" in an inconspicuous place to pay homage to some of the mods and accessories on my truck. I'm sure there will be more in the future!
