Same with driving a tractor-trailer.
Speaking of TT check this out. I thought it was AI but really can't tell anymore.

A friend of mine drove a TT and did local runs and I've been on a few runs with him. I've seen him back into some really tight spaces when delivering to grocery warehouses that I thought were impossible to get into. There were 2 other empty containers and the angle he had to make looked Impossible to make but he did it one shot. I've always had a lot of respect for OTR truckers!

You live long enough you'll see (and experience) all manner of accidents. At least I have. The intelligent will learn very quickly, those not will leave the gene pool. It didn't take me long as a teen and young man to figure out the inherent dangers of motorcycles. I love them, and the big cruisers are so very well engineered.

But (there is always a "but") 2 wheels are much less stable than 4, and people either don't see you or worse, take advantage of a situation and almost kill you. The majority of the time is they just don't see you, but I've been almost hit several times from those looking to take advantage, and a few times that I know were intentional.

It happened enough that I walked away from motorcycles at 23.... and I loved the feeling and freedom of riding one.

FWIW, I still own a 93 black Supercharged Miata, and I have a similar problem with it not being seen. It is the only car that I drive with the headlights on.

One final thought, I absolutely hate driving on interstate outer loops around major cities such as Atlanta, Wash, DC, and in the last 10 years even here in Raleigh! Everyone is exceeding the speed limit by 15-20mph and are bumper to bumper on a 6-8 lane wide highway. There are absolutely no room for error. If you leave any space the idiots on both side will quickly cut you off. It is impossible to drive defensively in this environment.

There's a lot of that kind of driving needing to be done back east, and especially in the Northeast where streets and buildings were laid out to accommodate much smaller vehicles. I used to hate having to deliver in NY, NJ, MA, and the DC area because of that.

It'll make you question your faith quickly if youre a rookie like I was, but being tested and succeeding there will make you look like a pro when you get further west where things are a little more spread out. And no matter what, you truly needed to have your head on a swivel and be super aware of surroundings.

I don't miss it.

Florida Dad Passed Out at Gas Pump With 5-Year-Old in Car, Two Guns, and a BAC Twice the Legal Limit

Behind the wheel of the parked car was 26-year-old Patrick Voegtly, completely unconscious. Sitting in the backseat was his 5-year-old child. And in plain view inside the vehicle was a loaded gun. The situation only got more alarming from there once deputies started putting the pieces together.

When deputies managed to rouse Voegtly from his stupor and place him under arrest, they discovered a second firearm tucked in his pocket. His eyes were glassy, his speech was slurred, and a breathalyzer confirmed what his appearance already suggested: his blood alcohol content clocked in at more than double Florida's legal limit of 0.08. At that point, the picture was about as grim as it gets.

I guess there wasn't any rope around.

It always makes me laugh when I see someone (usually the driver) trying to hold something down on their roof. Like do you really thing when it starts to blow off you're going to hold it 🤦‍♂️

If he had a brain, there might have been a concussion. But then again his dad drives a Cybertruck.
