Well, we won't have to worry about his genes being propagated!

He didn't that think THAT through!Smoking and riding a bike, what could go wrong
Title should read "Smoking with a big azz beard" because the bike has nothing to do with it.Smoking and riding a bike, what could go wrong![]()
Yeah, but it's hilarious how he tries to slough it off and ride away.Title should read "Smoking with a big azz beard" because the bike has nothing to do with it.
It's not the beard, it's the flammable crap he uses to condition his beard! I've seen women's hair catch fire from the same cause.Title should read "Smoking with a big azz beard" because the bike has nothing to do with it.
I think Michael Jackson could have spoken to that too, in times past. It's not the beard, it's the flammable crap he uses to condition his beard! I've seen women's hair catch fire from the same cause.
I'm having thoughts of Richard Pryor running down the street on fire, but it was caused by a different type of recklessness.I think Michael Jackson could have spoken to that too, in times past.

That's why it's always important to have a good, top quality helmet. I cringe when I see people riding without a helmet. Yes it's nice to have to wind and cool breeze but they don't realize how easily your head can split open like an egg. When we were up in Louden, NH for bike week I went helmet less 1 time and hated it and never did it again. Not quite "Darwin", but I don't know where else to put this. Obviously, this helmet got used for its intended purpose, so then someone seems to have decided to take a look at what it looks like "under the hood" as it were.

Ouch! Sounds like quite the ride. I had a bike when I was in high school and the only time I ever rode without a helmet was just going up and down a quiet residential street either in front of my place or a buddy's place. I never went further than that without putting the helmet on, although I did give rides to friends without having a spare helmet for them. What can I say? We were young, stupid and invincible. That's why it's always important to have a good, top quality helmet. I cringe when I see people riding without a helmet. When I got into my accident (washed out in soft sand) I had all my gear on except for my leather pants. That was where the worst of my injuries were as I slide down the road on my stomach for a good 50+ yards and tore up my knee with road rash. My race gloves were burnt though at the palm and side of my thumb, jacket was all road rash (thank God I was wearing it) because it was worn down to the kevlar and my race boots wear also worn down on the sides and tips. The front of my helmet was also ground down from sliding and if I wasn't wearing it I'd probably not have a chin right now. lol
I ended up with 4 fractured ribs and a knee I couldn't kneel on for a year and most of the muscles in my back were all knotted up. My PT said the only way to explain it was picture a rubber band all twisted up and now you have to unwind it a little at a time. The pain from the PT was almost as bad as the accident itself! Fun times!

I do believe, though, that having the bike first has made me a better driver, because I learned to have a much better situational awareness. After all, on a bike, you are the airbag.
I wiped out late 2005 when I hit some gravel on a curve that wasn't there the day before due to heavy rain. I almost made it until my front wheel hit the ditch, flipping me over the handle bars, which snapped left trapping my leg, and snapping my tibia. The only thing that hurt was my leg, although I supposedly cracked a vertebrae also. And I didn't even know my helmet hit the road until I saw the small spot of road rash on it.This 100%!
I always had mini bikes and dirt bikes growing up and took my share of wipeouts on them but the dirt is way more forgiving than the pavement. When I got my first street bike (at 29) my buddy who's been riding street bikes for years told me you're going to feel mentally exhausted after riding. I gave him that WTF are you talking about lookbut he was right. You're constantly looking around at your surroundings and making sure your 2 moves ahead of everyone else and by the end of the day you're tired. You're so right about making me a much better driver on the road because I still use that same awareness while driving now.
Same with driving a tractor-trailer.This 100%!
