What are the shifts like with the non soft shift tune? I’ve read the soft shift is still firmer than stock.
I would say the soft shift is comparable to the stock shifts.

The non soft shift is definitely firmer than stock.

My neighbor has a 280Z with a few mods. He's in his 70's and doesn't race but I gave him a ride and punched it and threw him back in his seat. He said the same Holy shit that thing goes. lol

I tried the tow tune and didn't care for it. It really didn't have much punch to it and I really didn't notice the mpg with it. I'm still amazed I'm averaging 22.4 and higher when all highway. I'm not to obsessed with mileage but it's nice to know the tune made a little difference. I'm getting the Toyo's installed tomorrow but the specs say they're 2 lbs lighter than my Nittos so my mileage should be the same.
That was pedal to the floor?

I have a “punch it chewie” license plate frame. Pedal to the floor in the Ranger just feels right!

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I got the Ford Performance Tune as I didn't want to have to flash it back to OEM and it needing to re-learn everything after the dealer messed it up, been there, done that. Also like keeping my 7 year warranty intact. In all honesty the Ford tune is way better than stock and fast enough for me.

Obligatory 'take the tune off before taking to the dealer' post. I had to do that before mucking around with FORSCAN, I suppose I'd have to 'return to stock' on that too if I want to be safe. The thing is I keep the SCT in the truck for it's other functions but not a laptop. If I'm ever in the side of the road waiting for a tow to the dealer it would be a crapshoot I guess. I typically take the tune off even if I go to the dealer for an oil change in case they spring an 'update' on me.

When I still had free oil changes from the dealer I forgot to take it out as I was driving there. I do keep the cable in my glove box but I was just pulling into the Quick Lane. I told the service guy I had a tune in mine and asked if I should take it out in case they check for updates. He said they never do unless they ask you first. I didn't believe him so I went directly to the service dept and talked to the manager there who told me the same. I'm sure every dealer is different but if anyone forgets just mention it when you're there so they don't mess it up. Mine could've cared less and actually asked which one I had if I liked it and we talked for a while about it.

My tuner is in my glove box. Need to email them and see how hot is too hot for the box..... @Livernois Motorsports

That said. I'm done with dealer oil changes as i got a few for free and got tired of waiting 2 hours for them to finish. I'd rather have a beer and teach the kids how to turn a wrench... even if it ends up being the same time after the tire rotation.

An update:

It's been a month now and the truck is dead.

Dead-on FUN ?

Running great with plenty of foolish power :sunglasses:

Again, many thanks to @Livernois Motorsports and the folks on this forum.

Look on the bright side - it seems to be pretty isolated to you alone.
