Constantly getting flashed for brights

Here is an older post on how to adjust the headlights and where the screw is. Most of the time it's because cars sit a lot lower than a truck and they think your high beams are on because they're directly hitting them in the face.

Agreed. There's nothing wrong with how they operate on my truck, either. In fact, I'd say they're almost too sensitive to dimming for things like street lights even when no other car is around.

Yes they do seem conservative at time when there's no one around and I'm like turn on already lol...like no big deal because I have plenty that are at my disposal @AzScorpion ? ...otherwise, they've never came on at on coming traffic at all...

Mine work great other than this too. Makes it look like you’re flashing your high beams at the other car.

Hi. My truck is not lifted. It's a standard Lariet with Fx4. I've not had the same experience with my Escape, nor any other car.

Ask the dealership to check them. I don’t get flashed and I run the dogs too. Same truck.

Nobody has mentioned this yet so I'll explain it: Adjusting the aim on your headlights is very easy and only requires a phillips head screwdriver. Consult the owner's manual - but the gist is you'll park the truck so it is pointing at a wall or garage door about 20ish feet away. Pop the hood and you'll find the adjustment screws at the top rear area of the headlights. Turn the adjustment one way and the lights will go up, the other and they will go down.

I live in an area with lots of hills and curves in the roads, and sharp cutoffs on the low beams can be really irritating. The projectors headlamps are the worst in this regards. It's not even suspension bouncing. It's just that the roads make the headlights aim all over the place and if you're going the other direction and you meet up with a car in the wrong spot, you're going to get headlights in your face.

I think that keeps a lot of people here on the extremely conservative side when it comes to flashing people for having their brights on (or their lights poorly aimed).

I think, also, that so many people's lights get ridiculously dim when they age and the plastic headlight "lens" gets cloudy that when you get a new car that's not cloudy yet, it might seem like the brights are on relatively speaking.

Adjusting lamps after installing lift and/or LED bulbs really need to be done...I was getting flashed a lot until I got mine corrected...

Same. I had a taurus with projectors and it had zero ditch coverage with the lights, and the cuttoff with projectors makes it so you cant see ANYTHING unless you are on flat ground or you raise them up.

I haven't been flashed in years, I also don't have any issues seeing with the Lariat lights.
