Constant quality complaints in forum

I get it. This is a Ranger forum. And anyone who cares enough to be a member here is most likely a bit uptight about their truck. But does EVERYFREAKINGTHING have to be a reason to start a thread with "OMG my Ranger has this!" Or "Ford should have done this!" Sorry but I believe we have some folks on here that would bitch about being given $100 bill if they had to walk across the room to get it.

I agree with you. And the other thing that takes up too much discussion (IMO) is replacing stock parts that are okay with aftermarket parts that are a little better and take tons of time and money to install.

It's a hobby for many, tweaking their stuff.

Way back in the day (20 years ago), I was all into mountain biking and spent more on its mods than I have on my Ranger. Titanium this, titanium that, all to save a few grams. Now it sits on a back patio and I weigh about 50 pounds more.

I've learned a little (but not that much) and enjoy adding some things to Soupie.

I think my side steps and bed step are necessities (I really can't easily get into the cab and bed). But other stuff is certainly a splurge, like my Bak Revolver and dual Swing Cases (a Rubbermaid Tote, which I have many of, would have worked just as easily, saved a ton of money, and in many ways been easier to use as organizers), and BedRug (it's a pickup, the bed's made to be abused so I don't really hneed this - a tarp would do nearly as well).

My next splurge will be a fancy dash cam, I'm thinking the Nextbase 622GW. I could go with something more economical but I hear my dad's voice about quality and that in itself makes this worth it.

To each their own and we live in a country that let's us fret about things like dampers. I never take that for granted and all the threads about changing this or that out remind me of that.

And while those things are trivial, the freedom to do those things isn't trivial.

We bought my wife's new Forester 2 months before my new Ranger and I can honestly say with Subaru quality is first rate and with Ford it's not. End of rant

My Ranger is the14th flawless new Ford so far. surpassing all competition every time.... Yes, includes two new Pintos. also 4 Rangers and a couple of the best trucks ever built ....300CID Econolines.
Subaru?... Rather have an Escape... Had two of them as well.
Overall the Transit Connect vies for the best of the 90 cars I've owned.

OH! And one little orphan SuBARu, $750 when brand new in 1969!

I had a brand new awd escape for a week when they did my windshield recall and would not touch one after that. Even my wife said this thing is junk compared to her Subaru. Guess everyone has different standards. You should take a new Subaru out for a test drive.

? Jayco and Forest River? They don't have enough quality to bother recalling them. They simply can't be fixed.

I have 4 Ford recalls still outstanding over the last 30 years ...'95, '01, '16, and '19 all too frivolous to respond.

My new 99 f250 had the water dripping on the coil shorting it out problems before it was a recall and my new 2005 F350 Had the steering goes nuts hitting a bump over 50 mph problem before it was a recall and phenolic brake pucks freezing needing 3 sets of calipers before 30k miles. So sometimes ford puts things off for years before being forced into a recall.

My 2008 Escape is a 2.3L 5SPD manual,(no windshield recall) I towed with it for 9 years, then passed it along to my son when I bought the TC (7 years ago) .
It is still his daily driver.

I did recently get a recall notice on the TC to reinstall the windshield.
I explained that the windshield caught a rock in its first year and that Safelite replaced the windshield with OEM .
They refused to credit the work, and I refused to allow them to redo it....
Guess that one will be on the books for the next couple of decades!

I have driven several Subarus, one of the best Pacific rim cars.

You should drive the TC , mine handles like a Focus RS, hauls like a truck, tows like a dream and offers the best comfort in its class. Not to mention the great comments we get wherever we go.

Maybe?? , but they also do more voluntary recalls than necessary.
Look at Toyota,.... recalls only at gunpoint!
