No pun intended, but I can't help but wonder if this has to do with American manufacturing. Ford vehicles built in Thailand and Argentina, specially Rangers, are known for being incredibly sturdy, reliable and well-built, and rated higher than the other car manufacturers mentioned here.

Had three KIAs. Love the brand. If KIA made a truck Ford would never see me again.

well, the good news is that Ford has an elite dealer network to support the blue oval through this time of.... oh, never mind.
That's one thing that doesn't seem to change no matter what country you are in - or for that matter what company you're trying to get warranty fix from either. :giggle:

I LIKE that!
You used to be able to get them here, in crew cab version too, you even used to be able to get them in 4WD but they unfortunately stopped making that version in RHD. Then they stopped importing them altogether a couple of years ago. Pity, they were a reliable little light truck beloved of councils and landscape gardeners.

Sorry to say this but our rangers are built in Ford's Thailand plant, - the one they used to share with Mazda. Apart from the paint - which is pretty much crap on all cars now, we don't seem to have nearly as many QC issues as you guys have.
On mine all the panel gaps line up perfectly, nothing has been left off, nothing has fallen off, and after 120,000 Km the inside is still tight and rattle free. After 7 years and 120,00 Km it still mostly looks and drives like new. There have been multiple issues with the 10 speed auto but you can't blame that on assembly. Mine has the ZF derived 6 speed auto.

Yeah and interestingly everyone used to rag on about how fragile they were, but if the cops couldn't break them.... Although I don't think I would buy an ex cop one at the Govt vehicle auctions.
