Can't wait to see what you come up with!that area is really starting to bug me.I think I will 3d print one. I'll post a 3d model on Thingiverse.com
same issue w mine! no tht i see it it bothers me!...thx to u all..I had some 30mm id x 32mm groove diameter x 44.5mm od grommets & they work well. Just trim off the one side & push in. The ignition is just under 30mm so there is still a little wiggle but it's much better now & blends in well with the other rubber tipped items. Big thanks to retire003 for the idea!
If you find one that fits, please post the info here for others. It was a stupid oversight/cost cutting measure IMO.same issue w mine! no tht i see it it bothers me!...thx to u all..
sadly fomoco could have prevented all our collective wasted time with a $1.59 part.
with the three tabs its obvious it got forgotten. not gonna waste my time w sales guy, the are stupid. i will bring up to my service contact.
also gonna look at wifes '16 escape. Ford likes standard sizing for common stuff across the line up, wouldnt be suprised if one from another model fits.
Guess what...Wife's 2016 Escape SE has same awful gap as our trucks! never noticed it. It also has 3 tab-cut outs. NOW I have two to fix...If you find one that fits, please post the info here for others. It was a stupid oversight/cost cutting measure IMO.
Lol, I wonder if it was discussed on the Escape forums. Maybe the 3 cut-outs really are for the ignition removal tool?Guess what...Wife's 2016 Escape SE has same awful gap as our trucks! never noticed it. It also has 3 tab-cut outs. NOW I have two to fix...
well I ordered the rings someone else posted from aliexpress but from an ebay seller. should have in 2 months!?... guess I will put one on wife's escape too. Shes not a car 'girl' in the slightest but when I pointed out both she agreed that it looked bad...so its not just us nutty truck guys. Though after 4 years of driving it sh didn't notice either, not sure what that means...FoMoCo needs to do a focus group.Just did a google search and there is a switch bezel for an escape that looks close...
My initial reason for looking into this issue was the key felt very very loose on mine. So much so I thought it was coming loose. The look was a secondary issue. Now both are solved.well I ordered the rings someone else posted from aliexpress but from an ebay seller. should have in 2 months!?... guess I will put one on wife's escape too.
